Well I was just sold on this tire. I have them on my Badlands, but what pushed me over the edge is as follows. I was watching an episode of Walker Texas Ranger. The episode first aired in 1994. Walker has K02's on his GMC pickup. If they are good enough for Walker then I know they are good enough for my Bronco. Case closed Washow! (sp?)

Yeah, I'll have to see once I get the Bronco with the Goodyears on it. But I suspect the Bronco is just going to be so much better on-road than what I'm used to in the Rubi, that it won't be an apples to apples comparison. I just know I was surprised that the K02s weren't louder and more drifty on the Jeep.
I don’t know. They may be better off road than the Goodyears?,but I’ll be willing to bet not as nice on the road. There’re 10 pounds heavier at each corner and a reason why Ford chose the Goodyears. Also one of the reasons the Sasquatch drives so nice. Depends what your priorities are.

I've been happy with the KO2s. I swap them out for Workhorse ATs that are my daily drivers* and try to just use the KO2s when we are going off-roading. When it comes time to replace them, KO3s will probably be the tire--I assume BFG will be replacing 2s with 3s completely. I could be sold on something different if a large-enough group of people convince me something is better.

*As a daily driver, I've got more street-oriented tires with the white wheels:

But the KO2s come out when it's time to play:

I have K02's on both my Bronco and my F350, they are great tires ,very quiet on the road.

The flying rocks is one of the reasons I put the full PPF on Nag. Gonna wear out the Goodyears and then decide which way I will go.

I guess quiet is relative. My neighbor has some smaller KO2’s -32”s on his Jeep and I can hear him coming down the road a block away.
I wasn’t even thinking about tire noise or off roading, more of where most folks spend the bulk of their time. On the road. Acceleration, braking, handling and of course efficiency.
There’re no other tires on the planet that give the rugged looks and street performance like the Goodyears can. Especially on the Sasquatch package.
Maybe a person needs two sets. One for the road and one for off road. There’s many, many better off road tires than
KO2’s.

My Jeep came with the K02s. They’re a lot quieter and smoother than the Territory MT, though have read mixed reviews about snow. Even though the TMT’s weren’t three peak rated, they totally outperformed the Wildleak AT3W’s I had in snow. I may get a set of studded Duratracs this season and just call it a day.

The K02’s have done well in sand and rain up here, though I am in 4A when I’m not in 4H/L.

The decades When I've lived in snow country, I've usually kept two sets of tires for one or both of our vehicles. Studded rear snows when it was Rwd (E350), winter ice tires (Blizzak, etc) for Awd cars (Outback, Freestyle), or 4 snows for the 4wd trucks (F150, Excursion). Spent most of my life doing the swaps at Thanksgiving & Easter. So Im not used to having to pick one set of perfect tires for a car, like many seem to do. Perfection depends on where I'm normally driving! Here in snowless SC, I still have 2 sets, the OEM 18" tires for the OBX, and the beach tires, a set of 33" Badlands take-offs. I use both sets.

MIGeezer: the KO2s on Walker's pickup are there because of "Product Placement." The vehicles you see on TV and movies, the liquor they serve, even the restaurants they enter, are all part of the producers' income stream. Same with prizes on game shows. Goodrich paid for those tires to be used--and maybe paid extra for camera close-ups so you could actually read the lettering. White lettering, I presume? Same with GMC and the truck.

I ripped a sidewall on OEM Goodyears on New Hampshire rocks a few weeks ago. After exploring, in vain, the possibility of a make-do sidewall patch, I shared my misfortune with a church friend who's parts manager at (of all places!) a Hyundai dealership. He ordered 5 KO2s at employee pricing on a once-a-year sales-tax holiday. Got them at $320/each, no tax.
I now have one mounted as a spare while I wear down my OEM Goodyears--plenty of good rubber left at 25K miles. When they go, I'll mount the KO2s and begin a 5-tire rotation.

I was driving a school bus a few years ago, when a steering tire went flat. As luck would have it, Chuck Norris was driving by and saw my predicament. He unscrewed the cap, blew the tire back up to pressure with his lungs so I could finish my route. Great guy!

Chuck Norris uses whatever tire he wants! Products are placed because Chick Norris and his amazing beard say so!!! End of story!

I changed my new Badlands Goodyear set out with 1000 miles in the first 4 days I had them. I installed 5 new 37" BFG KO2 in their place and there is a difference for sure. The difference is my Badlands Squatch and my daughters identical 2021 which hers still has the original 35" goodyears has rock chips thrown up by the GY tires and I have 1 chip which was from the factory set. The BFG are also quieter than the factory set. I have ran BFG KO since the mid 90's.
The Goodyear factory set on my brand new rig were put thru the paces on wet muddy trails above timberline and never slipped once including on wet granite. But I do know I will stick with what I have and my daughter will go BFG once she wears the factory set out.
BFG does not sling rocks as far as I can tell, or at least not as bad as the factory set.

I found they do throw rocks, 33 K02's on my truck, that's why I got the Gatorback flaps. I agree they are quite for this type of tire, and ride better then the GY's I had on my Jeeps.

Your comment is why I started this post. I hoped it would be more humor then tire theory. Thanks!!

I have the KO2s on my bronco. They are ok. Not my favorite tire. Had them originally on my Raptor but they seemed to wear fairly quickly and started cracking in a few years. They absolutely suck in wet grass, any appreciable mud/ clay. Good for desert running. I prefer the general grabber ATX. Cheaper and the rubber compound is a little harder so they last longer. My general grabber X3s have lasted longer than the BFGs I had on the Raptor. When these wear out in a couple years, I'll probably get the ATXs to replace them, unless there is something else on the market that catches my eye...
