Or a participation trophy.
I think to get a participation trophy you have to own a Bronco, but its not really my committee

Since when do you have to own a Bronco to be on this forum?

Anyone remember the SVT? Ford had no issues producing 2000 or so specialty cars, so what the problem now?
Just because some people on a consumer forum don't know how to drive doesn't mean enthusiasts don't.
I want to hear from Ford not a bunch of anti manual / V-8 pe.

I am not anti-manual I just don't want one anymore.. Back in my younger days, manual transmissions were all I had. I've changed many pressure plates and did plenty of clutch rebuilds in my days.

Now, I don't want to constantly deal with a clutch, especially when driving in traffic. I've been an automatic only person for the past 15 years or so.

No hate from me for the manual crowd and I think if I had a muscle car, I'd probably prefer a manual but not for a 4x4 vehicle and not for a daily driver..

I have a six speed in my Mustang. It takes a lot of concentration to drive it in traffic or at speed. Most folks can’t handle thinking and driving.

I hear you I am old school My newest Manual (my daily until 2 months ago) only has a 5-speed. My son has a 6-speed in his Camaro and when I drive that thing I always forget the extra gear, plus his sixth is where my reverse is... that kinda scares me.

After years of offroading and having problems with slushboxes I wouldn't have one ,especially in 4x4.

To each their own.. After years and years of off-roading with manual transmissions, I prefer an auto with two footed driving..

I wonder what the demand for manual tranny's actually is? I'd assume it's a very, very small segment of the market..

I guess one benefit is:

That picture is why my grandkids’ first vehicle (provided by grandpa) is always a manual transmission.
I must say they are becoming harder and harder to fine, but they provide great projects for me before delivery and for them as they learn the ins and outs of vehicle ownership…

I went with the 6 auto, hate the manual in traffic. Besides my 77 F150 4x4 is manual so I can get my kicks with that! As they say ‘to each their own’!

If my v6 bronco had a manual option, I would have spent days vacillating over what transmission to get. And I honestly don't know yet what I would have picked.
I say that because, mine is not a daily driver and the thing I kike about a standard transmission in a vehicle that does things, is the way you connect with the vehicle, feel, sound, choices, control. Picking the right gear for climbing or descending is rewarding.
In a vehicle that is not pushed, an auto is great. But when I row gears in something with HP and pipes, man does that feel good.

I would be rowing gears today but Ford gave me no choice when I built my Bronco. 2.3 manual non sas or 2.3 auto sas. SAS for the warranty and the 10 speed is almost as good and fun as the manual once you figure it out. Zero regrets...but would still have the manual if it would have been offered for my build.
On another note. I drove my 67 Bronco with a manual for 25 tears and after switching it to an auto I'll never go back in that buggy!

The Bullitts ONLY have manuals. The GT500 is an SVT rather then a true Shelby and it IS the lineage of the Cobra Mustang (a name Carroll sued Ford for stealing) and they are all autos so basically Ford just does what they want. Also that's nearly a quarter century gone alot has changed as has the brass at Ford. It also helped that Saleen previously brought back American performance by supercharging SN95 and New Edge Mustangs proving to Ford and Detroit that there was the ability and the demand. Eventually leading to Lightnings,Terminators,SC Harley F150s ect. So it may take the aftermarket to lead the drive. Currently the platform is too vanilla but given a company with the resources, vision, and determination anything is possible. Like Saleen dropping a 351 in a wide body SN95 or a 302 in a S197 long before Ford brought it back. OEs don't care about the enthusiasts they sell the image that they care and relate but ultimately make cars for the non discerning masses that drink Starbucks and use apple

I own both. I hope that doesn't mean I'm double hated. Lol. I'm with you. I want a manual in a muscle car, but it was never a thought on this. If I HAD to choose I'd keep the manual Mustang but I am sure glad I don't have to.

Initially 25% of the reservations were manual transmission.
Take rates are relected in dealer inventory, the dealers don't and won't stock manuals, hence no sales.
Over the course of the lifecycle of the vehicle it amounts to a lot of vehicles.
It's not an entire vehicle its a simple option.
F is in manufacturing, producing the parts need is not a bug deal. Yes I know what's involved I'm in manufacturing.
No you says you have to buy the option.
No one cares about jeeps 6 cylinder power level it would be a ford engine tuned for better bottom end and to get rid of the turbo(s).
Economics? Ford had no problem throwing away billions on failed EV prospects.

My father once told me " You don't know how to drive a car unless it's a manual" HA!

Most simply don't know how to drive a manual because it takes time, practice and effort.

We currently own two and will always keep at least one around.. and yep I drive it at least 3-4 times a week -- and into the heavy traffic the DMV ( DC Maryland Virginia) area offers up -- An absolute non issue for me..

Currently own automatics, but will soon be in the market for a small pickup with a manual to prep for grandson’s 16th (18 months from now)… As stated elsewhere here its great to know how to drive a manual, and is an almost guaranteed “non-steal-able” car for a young driver.

I love the feel and fun of the manual in the semi-rural area I live in. If I were driving into the big city often it would be an automatic only for me, as I can but don;t want to concentrate on the gear I’m in when navigating among the thousands of crazies out there…

While not as romantic as driving a V-8 with a manual, today’s automatics are pretty amazing, and the EcoBoost gives one the best of all worlds, with the possible exception on less low, low end….

With today‘s engines, transmissions, and onboard computers working in unison there is a lot that can be “tuned” for specific applications and needs… We could start a whole new thread on how well computers shift transmissions vs. human beans (sp), but it’s Friday…

Have a great weekend all!
