Hi all,

My Raptor was delivered Friday and I am picking it up this Thursday. Looking forward to breaking in the engine. I am very specific with engine break ins. Already have the break in miles planned out and booked my after break in oil change for a week later. Always fun picking up a new vehicle.

I wonder about those guys. He is a good off road driver for sure but when he was basically abusing his new engine I thought does this guy not understand engines? I couldn't do that to a new engine. So I will skip Mexico for now...haha

My exact reaction as well. Click bait obviously, but why do it in the first place. Like it proves anything. Congrats on the Raptor. Looking forward to your review.

!!!! Congrats! That thing is a beauty and beast all rolled in one. How did you wait almost a week,? I'd be losing my mind. I too am very specific with break in. The service and parts departments think I'm crazy because "these newer vehicles don't need to be broken in" I drove every which way on backroads so I could get milage before freeway speeds. Enjoy!

Thank you! With the PPE and Ceramic coat and I have to travel to get to the dealer it just worked out that way. Believe me I would of liked to have been there the day after. I think there is a difference between the engineer/mechanics and the marketing department. They would like to make them ready for the masses and have nothing anyone needs to do. I will stick to back roads as well before I have to get on a freeway. Miles and miles before I have to. Even then I will be varying the speed as best I can within reason. I love breaking an engine in properly.

I sure am dude, thanks for asking. This was today. The third day. I have done about three hundred miles each day so far so almost broke in. It basically is now. I have been smoothly going up and down the gears and babying the engine. Yesterday, I took it off road and tested all the buttons and such on a logging road but didn't push it too hard. Today at the end of the day I hit it a bit harder. Still not braking too heavy or hard on the gears. I have been raising the RPM slowly. I had the rear locker on, 2 high, Off road damping, sport wheel, baja pipe and Advance trac off. Kinda bounced around a bit. Slid a bit, got a bit muddy. It was a lot of fun. I like it for sure. Tuesday off to the dealer for an oil change and good to go for Michigan. I am looking forward to just hitting it and not being concerned about break in. Any time now flat pedal it will be. Looking forward to shifting hard and being in the right gear coming out of the corner. Today all auto no manual. Smooth but pretty fast.jpeg12.jpg
