Hi,

I posted in the "Welcome" section but also wanted to introduce ourselves here. We are Barry and Shelly and live in SoCal, haven't placed an order yet as we are in the very early stages of research, but wanted to find out as much information about the new Bronco as possible. Things that will affect our decision are the following:
  1. We own a motorhome and looking to flat tow a vehicle (I know the base model can't do that, but are the other levels towable?).
  2. Have 3 big dogs (St. Bernard, German Shepard/Husky mix, and Leonberger) and need room to roam with them.
  3. Don't go off-road much (it is an option though) so appreciate thoughts on which level to look at
  4. Do most folks get options through the dealer or go to companies like Off Road Warehouse (ORW) for accessory install?
  5. What options are "highly recommended" (I know that's objective) and what options are not needed (again, I know its objective)?
  6. Opinions on what you like most/least about your Bronco
  7. How was the ordering process, length of time between placing and receiving, pricing (I guess you are paying MSRP or above)
I think that's about all the questions we have for now. Looking to get to know other members and thank you for allowing us to join the forum.

Sincerely,

Barry & Shelly

Welcome to the Bronco Nation Barry & Shelly!

First things first. Whomever you place your order with, make sure you get a signed purchase agreement for msrp. If the dealership won’t give you one, find another one. Call around until you find one. There are plenty of dealerships selling ordered broncos at msrp.

Your fastest way to owning a bronco is to order a Big Bend, 4 door, soft top with a 2.3. If you are not willing to wait, there are some available to buy for $10,000 - $30,000+ over msrp.

You have to decide what kind of off roading you will be doing to give everyone an idea on what to suggest. Mud, sand dunes, rock crawling, or just driving down 2 tracks.

I do not plan on flat towing mine, so I have not looked into it.

Hi Slash,

That's what I've heard about the purchase agreement and getting one signed. Definitely will look/call around at multiple Ford dealerships (have SD, Orange, Riverside and LA Counties to pick from). We aren't in a big hurry at the moment (which is kind of a good thing) so have time to look around. Off-roading will not be a big thing for us...multiple uses, mostly daily driving, driving down 2-tracks, and when we go camping it'll be our vehicle to ride around the area with the dogs (think Yellowstone, Yosemite and campgrounds, etc.). We do appreciate the feedback and will definitely utilize the information when the time comes.

Yes you can flat tow all Broncos. Not sure about the BS. As mentioned the Big bend 4-door soft top will get you a Bronco sooner. With those big pooches a 4- door is a must I am planning to shuttle around a pair of Great Danes so MGV is a must for me so you might find yourself in a Black Diamond to get that or add Kat skins to a Big bend. Unless you plan on really wheeling the thing I would pass on the Sasquatch if you want the looks a level kit and wheels and tires is all you need. Good luck and Welcome to the Nation.

Totally agree with Jakob. The Marine Grade Vinyl should work out great with the pooches. Black Diamond is the lowest trim with available MGV seats. You can also order it with the Mid package which will give you some creature comforts. There are a couple of rim choices with that trim also.

Shedding dogs was what made me decide on getting the Black Diamond with washout floors and marine-grade vinyl. Welcome to the Nation! Keep us posted on what you decide.
