My wife had a 75' and an 81' Bronco and to this day it's her favorite car, she still talks about it. I had a 58' Ranchero and a 77 F150 so needless to say we're Ford fans (I like other cars also, there's room for more than one favorite but always seem to come back to Ford lol). We currently have an Expedition as well. You can imagine how excited my wife was when Ford announced the Bronco so we jumped online and became day 1 reservation holders.

Placed an order Oct 20th for a Badlands, Sas, Lux, tow, hard top, vinyl, etc (which now looks to be the trinity of bad choices) and patiently waited...and waited...and waited. Rolled over our order three times meanwhile starting to see Broncos on the road around town. Then we see more and more. We call our dealer (on top of the regular every few month "got any updates" call) and they say you're a priority code 10 which is the highest we can get you, Ford does the rest. Removed the tow package cause that's supposed to help but guess not. Started to wonder if we'll ever see our Bronco, three model years later.

Well got the email last week and I'm just stunned. Completely feel like Ford gave all of us who stuck in there a big middle finger and said tough shit, take it or leave it. What really gets me is how they've released multiple different custom models all the while most of us haven't gotten our original order. Case in point: a teacher at our kids school who reserved her Bronco well after us converted hers to an Everglade and has owned it for a good while now. WTF Ford!?! Any communication would be nice.

I'm also a day one reservation holder for the Lightning and can already order my Lariat or Platinum model.....but I think we're done with Ford. They just lost $150k in my business plus any future business and I'm going to sell my Expedition shortly. Everyone in my world and online will know how badly Ford is as a company. People might think this is harsh but the reality is Ford shouldn't treat their customers like this. It's not fair to make people wait for 3 years and then say if you don't down grade we'll cancel your order. That's straight from the dealers mouth (only down graded models will be built and of course Raptors, Heritage, Everglades, bullshit, etc). If we don't down grade (or anyone who has an outstanding order) by March 7th there will be no Bronco for us, period. No 2024, no chance to have it built over the summer, nothing. We'd begrudgingly wait for a 2024 but that's not an option. "Oh here's $2500 if you want to buy another one of our cars" Da fuq is that!?!

Sorry for the long rant. I just needed to vent. I'm happy for everyone who got theirs, it's a remarkable vehicle. After two Off Rodeos we were even more excited to get ours but alas it's not to be. I just hope Ford some day actually feels how bad they screwed over thousands of people. It could've gone so differently, possibly the worst vehicle roll out of the last decade or so.

So sad to see where this has gone. I have only had an order in for 11 months and I am mad. I can't imagine three plus years. I think you speak for hundreds, if not thousands of people. The really bad part is that Ford is not the only big corporation headed this way. They get so big they forget the people who made them to begin with. Ford is one of the ones that is too big to fail and they know it. If they start to falter too far, the U.S. Govt. will just bail them out as they have in the past. I broke down the Sat. after I got wind of this on Fri. evening and found one just like my order and bought it. Glad I did. If I hadn't, I probably wouldn't have gotten one. I paid way too much but I put myself in a corner by filling my garage up with add on options. I feel a little bit of your pain and that is my rant.

I can only say what I would do, but if my order was taking more than one year (and especially 2 or even 3 years) I would simply 1. cancel and start over, or 2. buy off the lot.

What is interesting when I hear these stories is that I can't quite understand why I will get my Bronco only four months after I ordered it -- late October 2022 order to early March 2023 build (Badlands with MIC hardtop, 334A, and tow) -- when others are saying that they are waiting years on years for essentially the same build. I can only imagine it all has to do with timing. I never buy newly released cars (no matter the brand) in the first two years of sale, and in this case, it seems to have worked again for me (issues fixed and reasonable delivery).

Sorry to hear what happened.

That sucks. Ford and their dealers are not doing good. I felt similar after selling our badlands last weekend and that's being on the opposite end of your situation. Ford just doesn't get the american people and their loyal customers anymore. Its pretty sad and upsetting so you go right ahead and vent. You earned it.

What are you guys trading your expedition for? We traded our Bronco for a Yukon. We miss the bronco a lot but we're also very happy with yukon. Keep us posted

Sorry to hear this. I saw the writing on the wall this time last year and jumped to the Everglades. After I saw all the Eruption Green broncos delivered in early 22. I figured they would try to get the Glades out so I figured it was my best chance at getting a Bronco in MY22 we have had it for 2.5 months and absolutely love it. You might as well make the changes and see what happens. You don’t have to buy it if it when it gets here. I would drop to a Black Diamond mid package. 7-speed would be best but if you can’t do that the auto would work. It gives you at least a rear locker that will get you down lots of technical trails. Add lift wheels and tires and you have a nice ride. That’s built not bought. Just my $.02

Just to make sure this is clear, Ford is NOT cancelling orders on, say, March 8, that didn't remove constraints. There's a chance these may be built, but the chance is slimmer. You still have until the end of 23MY scheduling to see if yours is built. Dealer allocations play a huge part in this, unfortunately.

Thank you for the clarification. I was wondering about this. My dealer essentially made it sound like my order won't be eligible for build unless all of the constrained items are removed. Since I ended up buying off the lot, and the "walk away" option didn't apply to me because I bought a '21 instead of a '22 or '23, I had planned on sitting on my order exactly as it is and wait to see if it gets scheduled this year. If it does, then I would have time to decide if I miss the things I conceded in the vehicle I bought off the lot would make it worth trading in for my ordered build OR borrow cash from my in-laws to buy it outright and then immediately sell it and use the profit to pay off part of the one I bought off the lot. And if it makes it to 2024, I'll just walk away. No way I'm paying 2024 prices for a vehicle I ordered in 2021.

Also, thank you so much for the hint about Off Roadeo being tied to VIN. I verified that my VIN has not been used and will be eligible!

This topic has been "discussed" ad nauseum in these forums.

I don't blame people for wanting to get a deal, but as the saying goes, if something is too good to be true, it probably is.

Granger is most definitely not blameless. When Ford Sales and Marketing noticed extreme, outsized levels of reservations accreting in a couple of small dealerships (Granger included), those dealerships were told in no uncertain terms that total sales out would be a predominant driver of Bronco allocations. The "October Special" was an explicit attempt by Granger to gain so many reservations that they would force Ford's hand. They did not.

Ford should have been more open from the outset that sales volume would be a primary driver of Bronco allocations.

Granger should have been more open with all those people switching reservations to them that the downside of their pricing deal was the timeline when they might get it.

Yes, definitely sit since you have at least this Bronco. Tim Bartz did make things seem more promising for order holders at SOME dealerships last night (can't emphasize that "SOME" enough for others. Your dealer is your best bet at understanding chances of scheduling).

I disagree. Ford didn't come up with (or announce) the allocation methodology until well after those dealerships had hundreds of reservations, and it changed based on Bronco Sports and other sales. I remember when Ford announced the allocation methodology and it caught the dealerships by surprise as well, even my local dealership that only had a few dozen reservations.

@GeoBig
I have had a similar experience to you, and am trying to wrap my mind around what’s happening…. I “reserved” in July 2020, but held off placing an order hoping for a hybrid to be released (Ford rolled reservation over twice).

Got a call from my salesman in October 2022 saying I needed to order a bronco by 11/21/22 or my reservation deposit would be returned and reservation canceled. Needless to say, I ordered the Bronco I wanted, and somehow I took delivery with everything I originally wanted (sans tow package) on 1/13/23. When I asked my salesman how I got mine so quickly (was expecting at least a one year wait), he said my reservation was early enough to move me up priority-wise…(again, never placed an order until a few months ago, just rolled reservations).

I have been told all along by my salesman (whom I’ve dealt with for years) that Ford has handled the Bronco rollout much differently than any other car in history. I’m not sure if this has caused errors at the dealer level, Ford‘s level, or what, but the length of time some have waited for a vehicle in mind-numbing. Add to that the ability of dealers to upcharge of 10-20K for “on lot” broncos that order-holders have not purchased, and I think you have a perfect storm for shady deals and abuses.

For those waiting I truly am sorry for the mess. You’ve heard it said the wait is worth it, and I have to agree, but I can’t imagine the frustration so many of you are feeling.
