IAG 4 Door Running Boards

Has anyone else added these to their 4 door? IF so are they rusting? I have had mine on for about 5-6 months, unfortunately I travel a lot so don't drive as much as I would like, only have 3500 miles on it and the boards are rusted real bad. Basically every weld spot, every bend is rusting, they look absolutely terrible.

Well, this one didn't age well at all. New steps are now starting to rust. Pictures attached. About 3-weeks into the 2nd set and just a few hundred miles. I really like the style and design, too.
My second pair came with chipping in the same area as the first. I really like them also. I wonder if they are only partially powder coated, if at all. I have never seen powder coat come off so easily. On the rear drivers side the “paint” just cracked and flaked off when I tightened the nut. They are sending me a can of paint and offered 20% off of the new interior dome lighting they have. So $20 bucks and a can of paint. I am still waiting for their response to my scathing email. And the worst thing is that I like them.

It seems to me that IAG has some serious production issues that should be addressed. A good price point isn't much good in the longer run if the product earns a poor reputation for lack of quality. I've had many years of experience in automotive production and can comfortably say that the condition demonstrated in some of the pics posted here the parts look like they've been exposed to thousands of miles of use as opposed to the hundreds of actual reported miles. The "bones" of their step design seem good but they would do well to find a finishing expert and revamp that part of their production process. They also need to consult with an expert in quality processes to verify the durability of their final solution. This is not brain surgery but neither is it common sense. These production issues need solving by personal with provable experience in real production.

Me either. I'm really surprised. Poor, cheap quality. I still want rock rail "clip on" steps, so I think the Archetype STIRRUPS are my next move. Unfortunate, as I really do like the look and design of the IAG steps.

My exact sentiments. The AR full length rails were my first choice but are pricey

Ok so after waiting a couple weeks to get a plan. I think they want me to go shopping for material get them ready to ship back IAG . Then package, pay for freight just for them to inspect them? Boy they are really dropping the ball, it is obvious they have issues .

When I ordered, it was a toss up between ar stirrups and the iag steps. The price difference was quite substantial. I decided to go with ar once I found out about the 20% discounts offered to for being a member of the other forum bronco6g, saved me a couple hundred.
I have only had my bronco for about a month and a thousand miles but the stirrups still look new, other then being a little dirty.
Evidently I might have made the right choice.

They covered freight on my return, if and when the second set gets returned they will cover that also.

So just received my delivery of Rust-Oleum Truck Bed Coating from IAG. I am pretty sure these things aren’t powder coated at all.

To some a minor thing. That being said, they will rust. I could make them right, but they should be right from the factory.

Ok, IAG is making an offer I think I can live with. I am going to start off with the fact that I am happy with the materials and the construction of these. I like them and they are exactly what I was looking for. That being said, the packaging is terrible and allows the finished product to cut through the cardboard during shipping. They bang against each other and what is around them. And if they are Powder coated, the attention to detail is lacking. both Pairs have chipped and flaked in the same places. And some areas are missing any kind of coating at all. These areas may be small, but that is where the rust will start. I am going to utilize the provided Rust-Oleum Truck bed coating and carefully go over and coat the entire running boards. They are also providing me with the equivalent of $120 dollars in product and the understanding that if their are issues, they will be addressed..

As long as they are working with you, that is what is most important. Aside from addressing their QC. Still waiting on them to reply to my email, but my initial round the customer service was fantastic.

Make sure that when they tell you they haven’t had these kinds of issues, that there are numerous people posting with rust and finish issues. I threw the BS flag real quick🤣

I bought mine back around June or so and they have some rust. I sent IAG an Email earlier this week asking about touch up recommendations. Received the courtesy Email, got your Email you will hear from us shortly. Nothing but crickets. I am just thinking of recoating them myself. But before I do that I will reach out to them again.

Regardless of the "finish" IAG applies, if they are packaged poorly they're gonna get damaged. That being said, it seems like a lot of the rust issues stem from poor finishing, especially at the joints. The good news is, you chose the best color for your Bronco!
