Welcome to a club no one likes to be in! I filled a chip a year ago and it's still holding, but another crack straight down the middle is forcing me into a windshield replacement soon (got called out on it and I promised to fix). I hope you have similar success with your chip!

Thanks yeah - guess I gotta look into a bug deflector.
Thankfully insurance covers the repair. And would be $50 deductible on a new one, but still.
Good luck with yours… yeah it’s illegal here to have larger than a 6” crack or something within the driver’s view.

Took a rock to the windshield Saturday on the highway, nice little chip on the passenger side. Getting it filled tomorrow. 1,008 mi. Ouch.

I finally got a star fracture about 3 years in on the ExoShield. Left it alone and finally in Baja I took a proper shot to the windshield. I am gonna wait to replace until it becomes an issue.🤣

I am interested in ExoShield - ironic they've got a Bronco on the website showing in the "products," "windshield protection" section.

Any experience with snow/ice/frost/extreme cold -> warm up? I am in Maine we frequently have heavy frost (requiring window scraping in the morning), ice storms, heavy road salt/brine/sand, days where it swings -10deg -> 40deg in 12hrs. Its in the $3-400 range for a bronco windshield?

It doesn't look like there is a true "bug deflector" for the Bronco as of yet. Just "hood protectors." Sounds like people have mixed results with those.

I swapped from a Tundras to a Bronco. I had the Tundra for 12 years. Replaced the windshield 2x in those 12 years. No bug guard. Prior to that I had 3 other Tundras, only had to do one windshield, but that was from a massive smash from an ice sheet flying off a covered snowmobile trailer coming head on at 60MPH at the crest of a hill.

I have done a review here on BN but it has been a while. Some things I like about it and some that I don’t. They have come out with a thicker version but I haven’t seen it in action. Bottom line is that the product does a hell of a job. It saved me, conservatively, 8-10 windshields. If you live in an area with a lot of dust, rocks etc (I live in AZ) and use your Bronco as intended, you will see some slight pitting and micro fractures over time. I also have an aero hood deflector and the two have worked really well to divert bug and rock strikes. The actual bigger fracture was while pulling back onto the road and I was too close to the rig in front of me. Rock hit under the passenger side wiper arm. These Bronco’s have flat windshields and you will get multiple broken ones.

The factory windshield on mine was repaired twice before another ding cracked it beyond repair. I replaced it with a new windshield and this 'new' one has now also been repaired twice due to minor dings.

I am seriously thinking about doing the ExoShield.. If I remember correctly, my last Jeep when through 4 or 5 windshield replacements...

To make matters even worse, my insurance does not specifically cover windshields and any replacement comes out of comprehensive coverage / deduction.. My deduction is $500 so it's not even worth filing a claim..
