Gun safe/lockable storage under front seat?

Yes, I know there are lockable safes/"vault"/storage available for the center console, but that's not what I'm looking for - the center console is hard to reach into when belted into the seat, the lid is awkward to open easily and in your way when trying to reach into the console.

Does anyone offer (or has anyone installed) one of the small "biometric" gun safes that open with your fingerprint, or a code, under the front seat? There's quite a bit of room - the seat adjustment bar runs across the front of the opening, but there is room under it. The smallest gun safes I've seen measure about 11" long x 7" wide x 2" high, and can fit a large frame auto and a mag, or possibly 2 small autos. Some of us carry on a regular basis, an easy, safe way to store weapons or valuables in the vehicle when you can't take them into a building would be nice.

To actually answer your question...
No, no one has made a slide out safe for under either the Driver or passenger seat, or for that matter the rear seat.
If you look under the fronts you will see there is little to no room to mount anything, thus the center console idea.
If you notice the rear seat actually pivots down if you lay them flat, so nothing fits back there if you ever want to put the seats down, thus the cargo area one.

I went with the Tuffy underseat lockbox and it’s working great so far—holds everything tight, doesn’t rattle when I’m off-roading. If you're looking to buy gun safes that actually fit the space well and don’t involve drilling, this one's worth checking out. Took me about 15 minutes to install and I still have room for small tools too.

I mounted mine using the existing bolts under the seat and added a spacer so it sits level. Plenty of room and doesn’t rattle when driving off-road.

If you can post some pictures. I would love to see what you came up with.

I tired several different options last year and none worked out.. I really wish someone would make a lockbox for under the drivers seat. I used one all the time in my previous Jeep JK to store a firearm...
