Subject: ATTN: Tuned Owners – Revert to Stock BEFORE the Fuel Pump Recall (25S75)!

Hey everyone, just a major heads-up for anyone running the Ford Performance ProCal Tune (or any aftermarket calibration) who is waiting on the low-pressure fuel pump recall rollout this fall.
Do NOT drive into the dealership with your tune loaded.
Even though this is a mandatory safety recall and Ford cannot deny the repair, the standard dealership operating procedure for this fuel system fix involves flashing the PCM with the latest factory software updates.
If you leave your tune on the vehicle:
  1. Your Tune Will Be Wiped: The dealer's diagnostic system (FDRS) will automatically overwrite and erase your performance calibration with the stock factory 2026 recall code.
  2. Your ProCal Dongle Will VIN-Lock: Because you didn't use the tool to cleanly "un-marry" the tune from your truck first, the dongle will still think the tune is live on the engine. When you try to reload it at home later, the tool will see the new software strategy, assume you are trying to steal the software for a second vehicle, and permanently lock itself down. You'll be stuck waiting on tech support in Michigan to reset your device license.
The No-Headache Protocol:
  • Take 5 minutes in your driveway the night before your appointment. Plug your ProCal dongle into the OBD-II port and select "Restore Stock Calibration."
  • Let the dealer replace the pump and run their mandatory software updates.
  • Drive home on the stock file, plug your dongle back into the dashboard, and re-load your horsepower.

Nothing is worse than getting your truck back from a simple recall only to find out it drives like a slug because the dealer's FDRS wiped your tune. And exactly like you said, once that ProCal is locked out because of a software strategy mismatch, dealing with tech support to get it reset is a massive headache.

Good looking out! Bumping this so more people see it before they drop their rigs off. 🍻

thanks for the warning!
For sure.

The other thing is there’s really no guarantee that people won’t have to download new software files from the manufacturer to their dongle to correctly synchronize.
I hope not but time will tell. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Do you think one would need to wait on Livernois, i mean Ford to rewrite a new ProCal tune.. and us download the new version to our tuner... or Just go and load the original ProCal tune?
