Filthy or clean?

I assume most here keep their Bronco clean. They get back from doing trails (assuming they off-road - no shade at those who don't) and they clean their Bronco up and get it back sparkling clean.

Mine for the most part stays dirty. I get out every few weeks and I don't see the point of washing it, detailing it and getting it all spiffy just to get it filthy again a few days later.

I am going to hit a self-serve spray wash today and spray it down from my last trip, but I won't really do much other than that. I am mainly just wanting to see how much pinstriping my last trip may have caused.

I did the same with my previous Jeep where twice a year I'd get it super clean, wax it, etc. Usually at the start of Spring before the hard top comes off and then again right before Winter after the hard top goes back on.

The paint on most Jeeps was terrible but mine still looked good after years of doing this. I assume the Bronco paint must be equal to or better than the crappy paint that Jeep uses.

So, do you keep your Bronco sparkling clean or just leave it filthy?

I try to keep mine clean. Every time I hit the trails I am clean within 24 hours. Two reasons. I like to participate in the "shows" and it makes it easier to work on when everything is clean... Now I am talking under the truck as much as anywhere else.

Now I am talking under the truck as much as anywhere else.

I def spray the undercarriage down after every trip and I give the exterior a quick spray down to get the bulk of the mud off.

When I was doing a steering rack and tie rod upgrade recently, I still had a lot of dirt and dried mud raining down from the undercarriage. πŸ˜‡

I'm a former car detailer and love when it sparkles which is 90% of the time. Daily dirt or lazy dirt is not for me. That said, I always drive around with the mud for a few days after off-roading 'cuz it looks cool and to show we're not just mall-crawlers.

We usually wash it off after wheeling. but we also always keep a protective layer of dirt on the Bronco. Desert Sand is the exact color of the caliche on our road so from 50' away it looks clean.

Mine gets washed and waxed once a year in July whether it needs it or not. Interior more often or as needed! 😁

Definitely clean, though it does get absolutely filthy when I wheel, but afterwards are good hose down all over, and then a clean later. Bronco's look great dirty and clean.

Filthy or clean? YES. That IS my answer. I love when it's first clean and when it's first dirty. It doesn't stay either for too long. My Mustang would rarely go more then 3 days without a bath and certainly wouldn't have dirt on it once I got home but Bronco is a horse of a different color.

I try to keep it clean but right now, it is green! I will wait to wash it until the height of the pollen season is over.

If it's convenient, I wash it after a trail ride or play.
If not it can wait.

With over 200" annual snow, our roads are heavily salted in fall, winter & spring, so gotta keep Bronco as clean as possible. Heck, I just re-painted several skide plates I installed earlier this year - It's a constant battle with rust..

Most locals here have subscription with our drive thru car wash. This car wash does a pretty good job for 3min drive thru. Also, towels, interior, glass cleaners and mat wash provided, so you can do as much hand work as you'd like.

Summer trails usually dry 'n dusty, and want'a keep our suspension bushings, etc clean too. So, check us as a clean as possible - It's constant!

Cheers

I wash mine a lot. It gets dusty in the garage, and we feed birds so if it's outside it gets pooped on. I do not let that sit on the paint. With stuff the way it is we don't have time to get really dirty. This weekend is a car show, so will be washing and buffing tomorrow. First one we've participated in so kinda looking forward to it

I wash the Bronco depending on how cruddy it becomes just because normal large city crud is just a no go for me… also, 60601 is also salted so I want to keep the undercarriage rust-free as much as possible.

When I finally get to do some trails, I’m more likely to leave that on for a while… πŸ˜…

Does driving in heavy rain count as cleaning it? If so, mine should be spotless, Texas has been getting hammered!

But, like many others after a muddy wheeling adventure, I use a "coin-op" car wash to get the mud off, or use my power washer at home. Need to bust out the Chemical Guys foam canon and see what soap I need to order, I'm sure I'm out since I haven't used it since last summer.

Like I said earlier ...once a year in July whether it needs it or not...but the real reason is the ice in the hose has finally melted and water will flow.

Finally taking my rig offroad with a group in a week. I might keep it dirty for a day or two as evidence that she's not just a pavement princess... but odds are I clean it right away because I love the shine πŸ˜…
