Just watched this today! Seemed like they were big First Gen fans. I would still love the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a classic.

I am a fan of all the generations. I owned a 3rd Gen missed buying a 5th Gen by a few minutes (an OJ Bronco) and now own a 6th. I don’t know how I feel… I get how they say the 6th Gen is nothing like the others but it is also 25 years newer, so yeah it better not be the same. As for the 4-doors I get it but the truth is if there were no 4-door Broncos there wouldn’t be a 6th Gen so it had to evolve. Just like trucks used to be only single cabs now seeing a single cab or even an extended Cab is a rare thing. Having options is a good thing. But nice to see them driving the oldies and having fun that is what these things are all about. 2-door or 4-door Sasquatched or Base if you are out enjoying your rig that’s a win for us all.

First car I ever owned was a ‘70 (1st gen)…
6th gen is hard to beat for comfort and features…

If the right 5th gen came along I might buy it just for giggles….

My list... admittedly more driven by nostalgia and less by objective ratings:

1. 4th gen
2. 2nd gen
3. 6th gen
4. 3rd gen
5. 5th gen

1st gen is the only Bronco I've never driven or even sat in. Need to fix that at some point.

It was fun to watch. Thank you for sharing. I have driven them all and live with a gen 5 with 300k on the odo and a 2 door Gen 6.
Each one was also a refection of the time they were in.
My Gen 6 easily out performs the 5 in almost all categories especially off road. The 5 has a way better cargo area and more towing. Very comfortable to drive and park too. Off road was not comfortable. Rocking the passengers non stop.
So of the two I give it to the 6.

Hummm... so they drive a built OG Gen1. I wonder how "original" it is. Whomever owns it, refreshed it with a built 302 block, I doubt they stopped at just an engine upgrade.

60-year old cars drive like 60-year old cars. I'll take my Gen6 over any of them. An excellent Retromod release from FoMoCo is the new Bronco.

Yep that is the thing. we have been saving up to build a 1972 from scratch Kencer chassis, Dennis Carpenter body, coyote crate motor. just this stuff brings you to almost the cost of a new Bronco and that is none of the finishing bits paint and interior. so a Stroppe Bronco would be a good starting point. or i might just build a 65 daytona coupe instead. maybe after i build my Goblin. too many projects.....

Thats bullshit, Ford would sell every 2 door they could make. All the moredoor did was attract the wrong demographic.Ford should have been funneling the moredoor sales into the Explorer, thats what that demographic wanted but went for the Bronco because of FOMO, now they are dumping them and not buying another one. The Bronco is getting a bad reputation among SMT crowd, because they bought the wrong vehicle for their needs.

Its not a win for us.Ford invited a bunch of people out into the outdoors that other wise wouldn't be there, over crowding trails, camp grounds and bringing their trash along leaving it behind for me to clean up.I've seen a major increase in trespassing and trash on my property in Vermont in the last 5 years.

I would disagree. I think Ford is a for profit company and as you say they can sell every 2-door they make but they sell even more 4-doors - more sales means more profit, again that is Fords goals. And just because you have a 4-door doesn’t mean you are a littering jerk, also if you are an enthusiast doesn’t mean you have to drive a Two door. We modify our vehicles to be more capable and convenient if I had a 2-door I would be adding two extra doors to it. It was different with my ‘84. I could fit 2 Great Danes in the back of that and my two teen age sons. So I don’t see that as anything but a factory modification. Also I think the Side by sides have brought more people out on the trails that probably would not have ventured before not the 4-door Bronco. I don’t think it is a bad thing to have more people enjoying the outdoors and trails we just need to do a better job at teaching people the proper way to behave. Utah has a pretty good idea you have to take a class to use an off-road vehicle on their trails, now it is only for non highway vehicles but I took the class anyway. And yes I saw lots of people going around obstacles and riding high on banked turns widening the trail, but the majority of the folks were respectful and doing the best they could. Our property shares about 3000 feet of fence with the state park and I agree there is a little more litter and stuff but I noticed that right after Covid when more people were using the Park because they had nothing else to do. But it has calmed way down since.

You don't see moredoor mustangs so they can sell two doors.
More sales does equal more profit ,so do return customers explorer buyers buy another one more door bronco buyers generally don't buy another one or another ford.(info from a dealer)

I would want to hear from ford on the decision to build the moredoor, was it simple greed or did they have to build it to sell two doors.

I agree. Although I have seen tons of 4 door mustangs they just happen to be electric and look like an SUV. And that is where there is a difference. The Bronco is an SUV, the market in the US has swung to an SUV market very few Domestic brands have cars. Even Porsche and Ferrari have SUVs. That’s the market. The Mustang is a niche vehicle now, especially now that the Camaro and challenger have gone to be with the Dinosaurs. Ford did a bunch of Market research when designing the Bronco, talking to enthusiast-mainly Jeep people because that was the closest competition. Again if there was not a market they wouldn’t make 4-door 1st Gen kits. Yes you can get a brand new body for your early bronco that is a 4-door. Also my first Car was a 1975 Mustang V8 and if it wasn’t for that car Mustang would have had a 4 year gap in production. And those ugly ducklings actually sold very well.

Edit: added Pictures of my first car at the 25th anniversary Mustang show at Seaworld -i won second place.

Speaking of the fugly mache if ford was serious about making profits they wouldn't waste money on EVs, how many billions have the lost? It's 5 so far this year?

The head long rush toward generic fits all cars is offensive, it's like the move toward no identity generic genders nonsense.
Ford can take their ugly SUVs and stick em.

Also please know I am not saying 4-doors are better than 2-doors or vice versa I am just saying that a 4-door Bronco is every bit a Bronco, just a tad more comfortable for Families or big dogs.
