"Capable" bumper?

What is this "capable" bumper Ford is selling on the '22s? I think the modular bumper is a joke and want to install a winch so opted for the included capable bumper. I'm just curious as to what this thing is.

it looks better IMO. not sure about a winch, they say you can but I have yet to see any on one.

I think Ford now simply calls it the "steel bumper" because they finally realized "capable" was a dumb name for a bumper. I would like to see better pics of what to actually expect, but I also put it on my order because I plan on adding an AM bumper and winch right away, it's cheaper, and I'll have a switch and wiring for bumper lights without tying up an aux switch.

I had the same thought, stock bumper will be out pretty quickly for an aftermarket winch bumper, at least this way I get some fog lights with a switch. I am sure I am not alone in seeing what the aftermarket comes up with for winch solutions that don't cost almost 4 grand and that don't block all the cameras and sensors.

I personally like the look of the modular bumper, and now that it is an upgrade, there will be very few of them on Bronco's, so a bit exclusive too! I am also not too concerned about the built in fog light switch.

Yeah, I like the HD mod bumper, but problem is I like it enough I wouldn't want to take it off, and it looks like viable winch options for it would block the camera.... Basically, I would end up with no winch on my Bronco for quite some time, I wasnt even considering a winch mount yet for my '21. So when I had to roll my order to '22 I looked at the capable/steel bumper and thought, now that's a bumper I wont mind throwing away, AND I get almost $600 to spend toward a winch? Maybe I'll change my mind when i see it in person, we'll see...

Rough country has a mount that hides a winch behind the front skid plate and under the intercooler for pretty cheap. I'm not ruling this out yet

That’s a nice-looking mount. I’m interested in hearing the reviews on it.

Doesn‘t work with the 2.7 is my understanding. And, only with the standard bumper too.

That is a compelling argument, I can understand your dilemma...

I intend to go with an aftermarket Bumper and winch as soon as I can for the Spring wheeling. That is why I went with the throwaway stock bumper.

Same, kept cheap stock bumper to retain the fog lights and controls and then will go AM once it arrives as well
