Still no build date. And when I called the dealer instead of helping me with the issue they found “another 2024 just like what I ordered” that they can have transferred and I can buy that. Downside is it’s Sasquatch and I didn’t want Sasquatch, since I didn’t see the value in adding $4000 for tires I don’t like. Another downside is the fact that’s it’s $4000 more than what I ordered b/c of that.

Now, I found a 2023 Badlands Lux package (my order is a Mid) with 3600 miles on it, for $3000 LESS than what I will pay for mine when it arrives. Not to mention it already has the larger KO2 tires and aftermarket rims on it I would eventually buy for mine, and a winch as well, which I would be buying for mine. And I haven’t clarified but it may be a Sasquatch, or otherwise they just put the Sasquatch fenders on it. Oh, and a roof rack. So I’d be getting something actually better, for $3000 less on the sticker, and several $1000’s savings in aftermarket accessories as well, and I don’t have to keep waiting around for a build date.

What would you do?

I’d go with the first option, new Bronco, and since “they” said it’s just like the one you ordered, ask them to give you the same price of the one you ordered. If they say no, you say no. Nothing lost. You gotta hold your ground when they start trying to negotiate, as you know they will.

Then I’d consider option 2 or just wait.

I opted to wait on the one I ordered even though the dealer kept calling wanting me to switch options. Glad I waited. The dealer wasn’t.

EVERYONE... will evaluate those options based on their own priorities. The real question is what would you do??? Everyone's priorities are different How would each of these options fit YOUR priorities? Make a list and then ON PAPER mark off how each one meets or misses your priorities.

Tough call.. I doubt the dealer will knock $4K off the one they found, that they say matches what you ordered, which it really does not since it's a sasquatch. It also sounds like you don't want a sasquatch... Based on that, I'd ask for a possible price reduction on the one they found. Maybe they reduce it some then you have to decide if it's enough for you to purchase.

I am always cautious of buying used, especially a new'ish model year with such low miles, even if the Carfax is clean.. I guess my concern is why was a 2023 that was heavily customized with a lot of cash sunk into it traded? Or was as it a repo? etc... Water damage cleaned up by owner would not show on a carfax. Trail damage fixed by owner or a shop that does not report would not show on carfax etc..

Me personally? I'd wait for the order or keep checking back to see if something else shows up on a lot that matches what you ordered more closely in specs and pricing..

When I found mine it was a special order Badlands non Sasquatch that came in and the original person who ordered it cancelled it when notified. It had most of what I wanted and but was missing the 12" screen I wished it had. I also did not want the Sasquatch version and wanted to build it how I wanted. I weighed the pros and cons of what it was missing from my want list and purchased it..

Good luck whatever route you choose!

Great idea but be prepared for what the list may yield. I made a list of “reasons to retire now”, and reasons “not to retire now”! Honestly, and surprisingly, I had 3 reasons NOT to retire and a page full of reasons TO retire! I’m making arrangements and hope to be retiring within the next 12 months (assuming the list doesn’t change!) Life on Earth is short so enjoying it while you can……driving a Bronco! 😎

Buy both, the dealers similar 24, and the used one with the add-ons you like, then you have the best of both worlds!
Sasquatch also adds a little more than just tires, gears and slight lift compared to non-sas builds, but can easily lift any bronco enough to add the bigger tires.

Something to verify is if that lightly used Bronco was a Sas from the factory, because that will adjust the gearing in the diffs. Sas and some manuals come with 4.7 gearing, which is well paired with the 35’s, but some of the automatic non-Sas have 4.46 gearing. The difference is more than it sounds, so it’s worth researching to find out the specs on that used one. Otherwise it sounds like a good deal.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I didn’t consider owner repaired mishaps, so I’m glad I asked.

The info online (unverified) says 4.46’s so they must have just put the squatch fenders on it. It looks like the rims are from an Everglade. So it’s kinda odd in that sense. Unless that was an option to add those rims in ‘23

Split the difference with the dealer on the Squatch'd Bronco. If the dealer really wants you to buy it, see if he will come down on the price. A few questions, do you have a VIN for the Bronco you ordered? Did the dealer screw up on you order and not actually order it?

Based on my experience with dealers on this car, I would buy something else, drive it down to the dealer and show him what you bought instead.

Everyone expected me to take a vehicle I didn't want or like, compromise my principals and pay more.

Stick to your guns.the people telling you to compromise and pay more for something you don't want aren't your friends.

No build date, no VIN. I did receive the order confirmed email before even leaving the dealer that day and I’ve received two more email from ford saying they’re “working to get it scheduled” I called 3 or 4 weeks ago and the lady who actually placed the order said she could see it in the que but that was it.

No need to settle. Have your perfect optioned bronco list in front of you.
Search the country.
Use Carfax or KBB.
Don't limit the search radius. Sort by distance.
Call the dealership and confirm it's exactly what you want. Download it's window sticker.

I got my exact new vehicle in another state no mark up. Cost $750 to ship.
Took me about 3 hours.

Go and take a picture of the window sticker to see exactly what options are on there And then compare it with your build. There could be several subtle differences between the two based on what it has and what you want.

Option 2, buy the used vehicle, and you can use the $3k towards accessories to build "your" Bronco.

What would you do?

what I would do is not relevant, and neither is what anyone else would do. There are questions that you must ask yourself to make the decision that is best for you. The first is this, how important to you is having a brand-new Bronco vs a slightly used one. From there you need to prioritize the options that you want. Another question would be how important it is to you to build your own vs one that someone else has built the way they wanted. Not to mention how patient you are to wait for one. Once you have these answered, because everyone is different, you can start moving forward. If for instance you don't have a real preference between brand new or slightly used, you will find that you will have more available options to you. If this is the case, then go with the biggest bang for the buck but do your research first. Everything is relative to the personal preference of the person making the decision. I ended up going with a new one with all the options I wanted in the color I wanted. There were different reasons for that, one was no available used ones that had what I wanted and that were priced where it would be advantageous to purchase. I also wanted the warrantee and a "clean" slate to work with. However, had there been a low mileage one that had what I wanted and priced right, I would have considered it.
