I have heard of a few folks using the Weathertech stick on bug deflector it sounds like it helps but with these fairly flat windshields it is hard to keep the bugs off.

No, but wish I had one today! With 8 hours of highway bugs could use it! Headed to Townsend, TN on last 80 miles right now.

Looking forward to meeting everyone & participating in my first Super Celebration! Coming in direct & fast from West St. Louis, MO today. (2023 Outerbanks, Oxford White, 3 1/2" lift, enhanced suspension, 35's, 20" offset, Black & Red Fuel's). With lots of bugs today, no time to wash up, anxious to arrive. See you soon!

I have the the weathertech on mine and i feel it keeps about 80% of the bugs off. the ones that do make it are usually up higher on the windshield. It also seems that the the ones that do make it wipe off easier. I am very pleased with it.

Does it help? Probably a little bit. But does not eliminate bug splatter. Also doesn't help with deflecting rocks either, All (3) of my cracks (2 different windshields) were with the bug deflector on.

The main reason I went with the bug deflector was because within a couple of months of ownership I noticed (2) small chips on the front of my hood. So at least that is no longer a worry. And honestly, I don't think it looks as bad as I expected it to.

I can’t say if it “helps” or not. I had it installed new so I never drove it w/o. However, it does not eliminate rocks or bugs completely, so don’t expect it to. I currently have a cracked windshield from a rock, and driving to SuperCel yesterday through the mountains I had to clean the windshield when I stopped for gas. I like having it on my bronco for the reason @EvlNvrD stated, just don’t expect too much.

I have the OEM one and drive high speed desert roads for about 500 miles once a month. That's about 80-90 mph the whole time. The "bug level" is now the top half of the windshield instead of the entire thing. Home this helps!

I would agree with that bug line. However, the rock I caught hit below the wiper about a 1/4” from the bottom of the windshield on the passenger side.

I have the Aerotek II deflector, no chips/cracks and definitely fewer bugs.

Hey Lucky,
I run the Ford Aeroskin deflector and it works very well. Since putting it on, my bug spats on the windshield are down considerably, and no rock chips. I can't say the deflector has saved my windshield from chips, but perhaps it is more than a coincidence. Here is the link to the deflector, and it is quite reasonable priced... https://accessories.ford.ca/shop/en...mor-aeroskin-ii-black-textured-vm2dz-16c900-b

I have the exact same rock hit from before the bug guard.

Did anyone notice a hit to their MPGs by adding the bug guard? I doubt it would be much but I didn’t think the roof rack would have made as much difference as it did.

But my BPW went down drastically!

The windshield of the Bronco is the easiest part to clean. The grille is the problem area. Anyone that says a tiny bug deflector is going to save your windshield from rocks is probably a vendor.

Interesting. I don't really use that area. Might be worth covering it up without impeding the wipers.

Might be a good idea. I actually have duct tape there on my explorer 😂. But its purpose is to stop the “cowl buzz”!
