It's a chilly one, Nation -- checking in to see if this big storm is affecting anyone yet.

To those who need to be outside, traveling, or doing storm prep or cleanup, stay warm and thanks for keeping us all good!

We hit another cold stretch; I wasn't monitoring my pipes too closely this morning and they were just about frozen solid.
Keep a careful eye on those. One goes burst, and you have a major renovation ahead of you. Open your under-sink cabinet doors so room area gets into those enclosed cold spots. Considering getting to a big box store and buying electric heat wraps for the most vulnerable spots. Open your taps to a slow trickle, but keep an eye that the drain pipes don't freeze. You might rent a heavy-duty heater, if any are to be had. Worse case scenario: get a plumber in to winterize your house, which means shutting off the water, opening all the drains, draining the pipes, putting antifreeze in your toilets (top and bottom) and so on.

It's a pain, but neglecting it can be a very expensive and major inconvenience pain. For starters, go on line about protecting a home from freezing.
