Anyone else get the Email about the Off-Roadeo Outpost trail drives?
its pretty good idea you get to use your Bronco and go on trails guided by Off-Roadeo guides.

A little birdy told me they might be adding a Merus date in September. $595 was a good deal we did one of the Pilot Off road connect trips and it was a great time. and you get to learn about your rig and how to use it. 2.3l and 2.7l have different tools available to them so it was well worth it.

anyone thinking of going?

Anyone know if we can add a guest at a later date? Looking at the November 9th one in NC as well.

I'll ask! With one guest included in the entry fee, I would imagine their place is "held," but I'll find out for sure.

I absolutely get it. Ultimately though seems like a few folks have figured out a clever way to get paid to travel and wheel where they want to. We can meet locals on the forums and arrange to wheel with more experienced folks for free and meet new friends while we're at it. It seems like a very cool thing , just not what I'd likely drop 6 bills on. That's money that could be used for mods or off road recovery tow if really needed.

I am not trying to argue with you, I am just explaining that this was good for our situation, and I am sure they did figure out a way to get paid to wheel. Dang that would be a good gig. And I agree wheeling with new Bronco friends and locals is the best part of this. I look at these events for the new or newish to off-roading person hopefully the guides have been vetted for that price, and they should understand your specific vehicles capabilities and “tools” if you are just running with a 4x4 club you never know what your going to get. I have wheeled with folks that have been doing this for 30+ years and they do things that I feel are questionable. Just because someone hasn’t gotten hurt doesn’t mean what they are doing is safe ( or the safest way- off-roading is dangerous) they might be lucky.
In our case it built confidence in our abilities with the Bronco. The Off-Roadeo was learning with training wheels, the Outpost is like taking the training wheels off and your parent is right behind you to catch you. Now we are out doing stunts on our own. Look Ma no hands.

That's just a little trail rash that shows you actually offroad your Bronco and it's not just a pavement princess! Think of them as badges of honor.

Oh yeah I am planning to put that one in the Spare tire location to really spot light that this aint no pavement princess. and this thing has more trail rash that winch plate sticks out like a sore thumb on V notches with big rocks. gotta use these things as God intended. 😉 oh and that rash on the wheel was on a really mild part of the trail but there was a rock that stuck out just enough, didn't see it or feel it, and it left us a reminder. actually have the scene on video somewhere.

No worries, Did you do Off-Rodeo? I did and it absolutely would have helped in this situation. My thinking is that I'm not sure I would learn anything new specifically from this beyond the original off rodeo (not saying I'm correct nor that others wouldn't). I could be wrong it just seems like off rodeo where you risk your vehicle , don't get the swag and there's no Outpost. It certainly would be useful experiencing it in your exact vehicle, for instance at Off-Rodeo I tried to pick a non SAS (they didn't have any) and I didn't use any disconnects or features mine didn't have. If we did a portion where the guides required using what mine doesn't have I just figure OK in my rig I won't be doing that (I had zero FOMO until Off rodeo 😞 ). I will say that I went to Nevada that covered rock crawling which is what I was most nervous about. Now for anyone who hasn't done an Off Rodeo I would absolutely recommend this as the teaching is invaluable and can prevent alot of costly mistakes and grief. What you say about safety and considering the source when taking advice is unarguably on point! Some people's behavior are a ticking time bomb. Lol.

When I look at this community it seems that Ford, the people at OffRoadeo and at BN are trying to provide opportunities to people so they can build their skills and confidence to a level that they are comfortable with. For many people, they have done the OffRoadeo experience driving one of Fords vehicles and want the chance to drive their own vehicle in a safer environment, as they build their skill level. For many Wiley veteran off roaders, they don’t need or want this. But for many they look forward to having the best chance of limiting damage to their vehicle. I have seen more than a few people bite off more than they could chew, even with a guide And on an “easy” trail. One reality of venturing out is the very real likelihood of damaging your vehicle. Knowing ahead of time what you may encounter, and knowing if your rig is properly equipped for a run is important and can lower your chances of damaging your Bronco Or having someone get injured. Having one of these very capable guides leading us on the trails is a reassuring thing for many. As for the locations, none of them are in my backyard, but I have never been one to shy away from a good road trip. I hope that many are able to afford and take advantage of these opportunities. See you all out on the trail.
Very well put. Just questioning, for me, if I'll get $600 worth of "training" beyond what was learned at the regular Off Rodeo. I honestly think the most value to this would be if I meet other local Bronco enthusiasts to meet up with to embark on safe and legal mischievous adventures. The Bronco Nation and Off Rodeo folks are spread thin and do an amazing job, they should be paid for their time and efforts. For me I just have to balance what I spend money on and the less accessibility clubs have the more they dwindle. I would say for anyone who hasn't already done an off rodeo this is a must.

I have another angle to be considered. Ever try to teach your spouse how to drive something?
My wife and I attended off rodeo together. We are not new to 4 wheeling.
She drove half of the event. Obviously she had fun.
As we continued wheeling in Moab the next several days. While I drove, she gave real good input. turned on and off lockers as need while I drove etc. It just improved our communication and feel of the Bronco.

She never wanted to drive our side by side and when we take it off road, we don't communicate on the trail or line. I drive, she rides.

That was an unexpected bonus from the off rodeo.

Yeah, I've been griping alot about the price but still may go. The adventuring as a group is a major draw.

Lol. Probably the best thing from Off Rodeo has improved everyday adventures and roadtrips. For whatever reason my wife is directionally dyslexic. Now she just says driver or passenger instead of mixing up rights and lefts.

Yup, I had a similar experience with my wife except she did the entire 1/2 off-roadeo experience. The difference is that, she got the bug to drive...

I signed up for the PNW event.. I'd prefer to use my Bronco so this is much more appealing to me than the normal Off Roadeo.

Are we able to use the free off roadeo voucher for this?

For me it's not really about the instructions they'll give and it's more about a cool trip, some 4x4'ing, and meeting fellow Bronco owners..
