True story Years ago was in the bar in town halloween night a bunch of girls we knew came into the bar, one girl (Nancy) was dressed like a hooker , bunch of guys at the bar turn around to look and one says, "hey how come everyone here has a costume except for Nancy"

I live in a student neighborhood, and the young'uns were out in force last weekend, last night, and I'm sure tonight as well. Costumes are sort of minimal, a minimal gesture towards dressing up. Girls tend to go for sexy looks, but with a difference these last few years. Before, they went big for over-the-top "slut" character looks: "slut" schoolgirl, nun, French maid, lady cop, Raggedy Anne, etc. with very short and provocative skirts. Now they just dress sort of dressed-down cocktail outfits.

Still an eyeful!

We don't get much anymore, Halloween has lost it, Another grand tradition down the toilet.

I think scare stories about razor blades in apples and drugs injected into candy had something to do with it. But basically, the common culture and shared affinities have been decimated by all sorts of things: the internet, political correctness/disparaging of America, attrition of church attendance and fraternal organizations, etc. Lots of culprits. But your observation is correct, and ironic, when you consider that Halloween is now right behind Christmas in retail sales. So I guess it left Mother's Day and the Independence Day in the dust.

reminds of the day I was following a convertible and had a hawk fly over carrying a snake, i thought to myself it would be cool if the bird dropped the snake in the convertible, just as the thought popped into my head , the hawk dropped the snake, missed the car though.
