The Bronco has been selected as a finalists for two categories. The competition:

World Car of the Year
  • BYD Seal
  • Ford Bronco
  • Hyundai Kona
  • Hyundai Santa Fe
  • Kia EV9
  • Mazda CX-90
  • Subaru Crosstrek
  • Toyota Prius
  • Volkswagen ID.7
  • Volvo EX30

World Car Design of the Year
  • Ferrari Purosangue
  • Ford Bronco
  • Toyota Prius
  • Volvo EX30
  • Zeekr X

If you haven't heard of the World Car Awards, not surprised. The pickup trucks and SUVs that dominate here aren't popular worldwide, so it is very rare for an American-made automobile to even be considered as a finalist. Admittedly the only reason why I'm aware this exists is because I used to work the New York International Auto Show for many years.

Quick primer on WCA: Automotive journalists from around the world are nominated by peers to become jurors for a 1-year term. Those jurors vote on a variety of categories, and the winners receive the awards. The last American-made vehicle to win was the Tesla Model S back in 2013.

The Bronco is manufactured in America and is current sold in the following markets worldwide:
  • North America
  • Continental Europe
  • Middle East
  • South Korea

Ford also has plans to bring the Bronco to certain markets in South America in the near future.

A Chinese variant is also on the way for 2024, where it is marketed more as a luxury off-roader. (However the Chinese variant will not be built in America, and instead will be built in China with the help of Chinese automobile manufacturer JMC alongside the Asian variant of the Ranger and Ford Everest. Ford owns a ~30% stake in JMC.)

Glad to see the Bronco is seeing some worldwide attention... but it blows my mind they haven't done a right-hand drive variant of the Bronco for the Australian and South African markets yet. Seems like the perfect place to launch the Bronco.

Just the Bronco. My record is spotless, no accidents in almost 50 years and have the lowest rate you can get.I don't get it, I can insure a Mustang cheaper.
100/300, comp, glass, collison
Yah I don’t know why it costs over twice as much for me to insure my Bronco as my Boss 302. Neither vehicle is my daily driver.
Go figure.

Same with England. They are not selling them there as well because of no right hand drive. I was talking with an English guy from Ford in Essex who was at KOH. He would like to see them for sure. I hope they win!!!

Regardless of WHAT the Bronco is, I'm glad to hear it's getting attention (if nothing else, in the form of a nomination). 😁

Absolutely Agree with you!!!

The Bronco should win both categories, but honestly looking at the competition kind of makes these empty awards.

The criteria for most car awards is ridiculous. For example Motor Trend car of the year is given to the car that had the most advertising dollars spent that year.

I don't know whether or not that's true, but assuming it is, that is absurd. No wonder so many POS cars have won that award. I do know most car publications were owned by Primedia which was ultimately owned by GM which is why so many useless government motors vehicles have won magazine awards over the years.

Motor Trend has been accused of it by writers for other mags since the late 60s.

It is what it is.
A 150 is between 150-175 for the same coverage.I get all the discounts on top of it, safe driver, lowest rate class and long term customer.
Going to have my insurance guy quote it again, last time he handed it off to the girl in the office and I think she fouled it up because the quotes I got are way out of line , I'm paying 95 / month for an 11 year old Focus.

Insurance has really gone crazy in the last couple of years… distracted driving and more expensive repairs according to my agent… even homeowners went up double digits this year… for the first time ever my auto is quoted six months at a time rather than twelve… fun times

Car and Davis ranked the Spurt fairly high.

Although who ever matched the sunrise graphic with gray paint and red wheels must be color blind or completely tasteless.
Sunrise graphic should only be used with black paint.Otherwise looks great.the Spurt would look better if they got rid of that angled window. The graphic carried over to the seats is cool.
