Badlands vs Badlands ... Help Me Make a (Nearly) Completely Subjective Choice

So, I was passing by my dealer and saw a nice 2-door Bronco on the lot: 2021 Badlands, 2.7L / 10 speed, MGV, 11,450 miles, High, Sas, Tow ($54k)

Meanwhile, I own a nice 2-door Bronco: 2021 Badlands, 2.7L / 10 speed, MGV, 12,450 miles, Mid, Non-Sas, No Tow ($48k)

It was intriguing enough that I talked to them and test drove this incredibly same vehicle. I'm a little torn on what I want to do, because I have always wanted High package, and having the Tow package would be nice (Have I ever towed anything? No. Will I maybe one day want to tow something? Sure. Will I? 98% no 😁). However, I feel like getting Sasquatch would be a comprise -- you lose articulation, and (in my opinion), get less attractive fender flares and bumper add-ons, worse tires (replaceable, I know), and here comes the "nearly" qualifier in the subjective part -- raise your center of gravity slightly. I do want a roof rack on my Bronco at some point, further increasing it, and getting my kayak off will be harder, too.

Has anyone moved from a non-sas 2-door to a sas 2-door and still been happy off-road? Curious on your thoughts.
Also, that 12" screen is alarmingly big when you haven't been in a Bronco with one for a few months šŸ˜… But I do like the idea of High.

Hey Laura, go for the high package, and you end up with the package you have always wanted. Let us know what you decide!

I don't think anyone can really decide for you, only you know what you want. I went from a OBX non-SAS to a WT SAS and also a mid package to a lux, love the 12" screen and 360 camera. I find the ride and handling on the WT is better but that could be partly due to the HOSS 3.0.

I wouldn't do it, you're not really gaining much from a value standpoint..you'd be trading model year for model year, trim level and mileage for trim and mileage...Sasquatch may add a little value when it comes to resale, but in the end, you still owe less on your current Bronco than you would taking on the other....you can always hold out for an abandoned '23 or wait to order a '24. Just my 2 cents...

Looks like there will be about a $9k difference with taxes included between mine and the other Badlands. Dealer has been great to work with so far, but I had a number I felt was worth it for my situation. I do think the Mid package will bring down my resale value sooner rather than later with the change to all 12" screens for '24, but I drove home in my current Bronco today :)

And you know that your Nonsasquatched badlands has never really made you feel like you need more. I know you have driven most configurations of Broncos so you know what the difference is so it is good you set a limit, and the value just wasn't there.

Also to solve your resale value issue- never sell it, then it doesn't matter.

Only @jparker can claim the Bronco DR status on this team lol. And I'm out on a manual; I've only sat in those šŸ˜‚ But yeah, I have no qualms with a 2-door non-sas on a Badlands.

When I drive, I need tires. When I look at forums, I need a screen. I think I'm one of few that really doesn't get the "give me that giant over-sized screen in my truck/car" fad.

8 inches is more than enough.

Top of a Friday Morning Bronco Nation Family!!!
I had to first get my morning cup of Coffee from that other Thread, and I think I’m ready to take this on. šŸ˜‰
I believe @Laura that you have a very hard decision to make, there have been a lot of great opinions and ā€œjust do itā€ posts, and mine comes with more of a don’t ā€œjust do itā€ approach, but a ā€œjust think it outā€ approach.
I’m not sure where you are headed for this Off-Road excursion šŸ˜‰šŸ˜‰ but I can tell you this, the way I look at it is the first person going up a rock ledge or over a lot of hills should have the 360° camera, and if this is you, then it only makes sense to really think about your decision on getting this Badlands with the High Package.
The first person (hopefully with 360° camera) going up and getting to the top then becomes the guide for the rest of us who may or may not have a 360° camera.
With many great previous posts, your decision lies within all of them spitting out their thoughts about wanting, or needing this Badlands with Sasquatch and the High Package.
ā€œDo I need the extra inch of clearance, or notā€?
ā€œDo I need the 12ā€ screen with the 360° view, or notā€?
ā€œIs it a vehicle I want, or need, or neitherā€?
ā€œWill today’s interest rates affect on how much more I’ll be payingā€?
ā€œCan I afford itā€?
ā€œWill it really matter on how much more of a resale value the other vehicle will have over mine, if I plan on keeping it anywaysā€?

Most of you know I get pretty winded, and since I’m starting on my second cup of coffee, I’d better wrap this up!!!

Wherever you are heading to do some Off-Roading, I’m pretty sure both Vehicles will do just fine, and since both vehicles have skid plates, you should be fine in whichever vehicle you choose.

Good luck to you Laura in your decision, I’m sure you’ll let us know!!!

Note to @SlashRacer :
I listened to every word you said, you said…. ā€œTurn Right…….Right…….Sorry, I mean Driver…….. Turn Driver, Driver……..more Driverā€ …… guess what!!!
I never fell off a single Rock…….🤣
People shouldn’t throw Rocks, when they don’t have the clearance!šŸ˜†

How I decided on getting a Bronco, even though I almost couldn’t afford it.
I didn’t need a Bronco, I wanted a Bronco, and I figured with my age, the money that I saved up, figured I can’t take the money with me when I go, so why not enjoy spending it on something that I have always loved……. Off-Roading!

Everybody has different reasons for getting the things they do, just make it a reason that you will enjoy and live with, and not have it come around again ā€œdid I make the right decision.ā€

Don’t question it in the future!!!
Make it your own ā€œI know I made the right decisionā€ then move on……..šŸ˜€

You lit up quite the thread. šŸ‘€
More importantly, you do a great job in here.
Some thoughts.

1: Will you ever go hard core rock crawling? If so, I might do it. If not, you could lift to anything else.
2: When you sit in the new one:
- And see your reflection
- As you are perched behind the wheel of the slate grey SAS
- Up high on 35's
- Staring at a 12inch Screen
You have to ask yourself, do have hard core regrets?
If so do it, as owning a 6G really is about how you feel driving it to do what you want to do in it.

Disclosure, we have a non-sas BD with 285-70-17s that doesn't rock crawl, but we have the honor of working in blizzards, scruffy mountain passes, old rail beds, desert sand storms, and mining roads at 10,000 and 11,000 feet.
We couldn't be happier with the Mid Package and the ability to hose it out after a film shoot.
We are north of 56,000 Miles and when the strike was announced, I could have sold it for close to my list... Pondering but not sure I would get anything higher as we are pretty hard on it.

Either way, you'r already winning.

Good luck! Look forward to hearing your result.

I'm here! See above -- they need more than I want to spend.

1. No, I live in Michigan and I'm a woods/river person.
2. Driving the Carb Gray felt exactly like driving my Oxford White -- minus the funky 43 PSI in the passenger front and 34/35 in the other three tires šŸ˜‚ But the view over the hood is the same, and I know my current Bronco is already more capable than I am, so I would be spending money with the mindset of the future owner's interest (high, SAS) vs my own true needs.

edit: I see your edit and raise you mine -- I read that as I literally left the thread lol. Thanks for your take, I appreciate your experience.
