Badlands vs Badlands ... Help Me Make a (Nearly) Completely Subjective Choice

So, I was passing by my dealer and saw a nice 2-door Bronco on the lot: 2021 Badlands, 2.7L / 10 speed, MGV, 11,450 miles, High, Sas, Tow ($54k)

Meanwhile, I own a nice 2-door Bronco: 2021 Badlands, 2.7L / 10 speed, MGV, 12,450 miles, Mid, Non-Sas, No Tow ($48k)

It was intriguing enough that I talked to them and test drove this incredibly same vehicle. I'm a little torn on what I want to do, because I have always wanted High package, and having the Tow package would be nice (Have I ever towed anything? No. Will I maybe one day want to tow something? Sure. Will I? 98% no 😁). However, I feel like getting Sasquatch would be a comprise -- you lose articulation, and (in my opinion), get less attractive fender flares and bumper add-ons, worse tires (replaceable, I know), and here comes the "nearly" qualifier in the subjective part -- raise your center of gravity slightly. I do want a roof rack on my Bronco at some point, further increasing it, and getting my kayak off will be harder, too.

Has anyone moved from a non-sas 2-door to a sas 2-door and still been happy off-road? Curious on your thoughts.
Also, that 12" screen is alarmingly big when you haven't been in a Bronco with one for a few months 😅 But I do like the idea of High.

When I was at Off-Roadeo in drove a BL with 8” screen and no cameras. As I was on the trails I thought, at certain times the camera might be handy. On my personal, BL with Sasquatch and High package I can truly say that the cameras are now an absolute must. I have messed around and use all of the different views and they are great. The forward facing camera, when on a steep incline and cresting a hill is an absolute game changer. Removes a lot of anxiety. That being said, the overhead camera view kinda freaks me out! How you do that?! 🤣

No, I didn't know that; that's interesting. Thanks for this nugget, @Unicorn. Stiffer springs help with the lack of a rear sway bar as you keep stacking weight on top, too.

Well my 2 door SAS has a rear sway as well as the 4 door springs.... I think they started putting them on everything without an announcement. I think that was in 22 but could have been in 23????

This question deserves a lot more thought and attention than I was prepared to give when I first read this post. It’s hard to weigh the benefits of a Sasquatch-equipped Bronco when you’ve already got one. I love my Sas Badlands. That said, it’s hard to not love ANY Bronco. Yours reminds me of the one I drove at the Bronco Off-Roadeo in Moab (right down to the color!), so I have nothing but find recollections. I do love my Bronco’s stance and those crazy wide fender flares, so I understand the appeal. I guess a lot of it weighs upon whether the higher cost is justifiable, given your intended (and potential) use. I’m also a big fan of my Lux package. I love the added real estate. Does the High Package include the larger display on the ‘21 models? At any rate, you can’t beat the old school look of the two-door Broncos. I think it’d be cool to have the Sas if you haven’t already, but the “minimalist” in me suggests you hold onto your Oxford White beauty. 😎

I talked about this at length with my sales guy…. I would recommend the SAS if for nothing else than resale value when you want to upgrade…

the 360 camera is AWESOME, and my little screen in my F150 is TEENY now

Agreed gearing is a big deal that is why I said other than gearing. But it is not that important to some folks. suspension wise the sas and non sas badlands are pretty close. wheels tires and flares can all be fixed. and in these parts you can throw as much rocks as you want there is no illegal poke, the flare delete capital of the world 😁 . recalibration is an easy fix as well.
I agree the 7-pin connector would be a PITA but the hitch and 4-pin can be added in less than an hour.

I am not knocking the Sasquatch package, I have the Sasquatch and wouldn't buy a Bronco (other than the Badlands-manual) without it. But everyone is different and Laura clearly doesn't feel she needs the Sasquatch as she has never been disappointed with the Non sas Bronco.

Ugh with used cars you never know what you are going to get. if you haven't had issues with your current ride it would take a really great deal for me to jump ship. this also comes from a guy who keeps his 400K mile chevy instead of buying a newer used car because I just cant trust any other car.

Maybe you can throw rocks, dark tint windows and only have one license plate but most can’t.

Can tires stick out past fenders?
What is this? Unfortunately, it is illegal in most states for the tires to stick out past the fenders. Some states do allow an inch or two to stick out whereas other states allow it if there is a mud guard in place past the fender as well. In most cases though, it is illegal for the tire to stick out past the fender.

Nobody really NEEDS a Sasquatch Bronco but side by side a lesser model looks quite a bit underwhelming. 😃

been trying to find where I saw the differences in springs between tow/ non-tow 2 door SAS....

Tow = Coil Spring - Ford (MB3Z-5560-C)
Non-tow = Coil Spring - Ford (MB3Z-5560-F)

Both springs fit the same vehicles.
BUT they are different part numbers and the Ford catalog prices them a few dollars different.... BUT I can not find any information about the differences... I am only assuming spring rate.... now this is driving me nutz....

I watched @SlashRacer climb a mountain of Rock without any guidance and using his cameras, did not slip off once going up it, “however” can’t say that held true for the rest of us. 😆
Hey now!!!!!

If you watch the video, I never told the driver to straighten the wheel. I had them turning driver and they straightened the wheel on their own.

We will talk about this at our driver meeting on the 28rh.

I will add that we have the High pack on our 23 BL, and while the cameras are certainly a nice to have, they're not very well integrated or thought through as the 360 camera system on other vehicles. Only being able to see the wheel views in 4H or 4L is a bizarre limitation (or someone please correct me if this is wrong - but I haven't figured out how to do it yet).

We also have a new Defender, and its 360 camera is a complete thought, vs the way the Bronco's feels like an afterthought. On the Defender, you have a fantastic off-road view that has from left to right: Diff locks, left wheel view, front camera view, and right camera view, with no need to ever switch to any other screens and no fiddling with it on the trail, its just there for you all in one very well organized view.

Guess where I'm headed is to sum it up, the 360 camera is a nice to have, but its not a requirement by any means, and its not as useful as it could be with a bit better software behind it.

I'd stick with your current Badlands, you've undoubtedly have a better interest rate, full knowledge of the vehicles history, non-Sas wheels, tires, articulation, and 54k for a used Bronco with that milage feels a bit high to me, if I'm honest.
Keep playing with everything. You can view the camera in 2H, but you are limited to 5 or 6mph. Push the camera button next to the radio volume button. ;)

A few times on Hell's Revenge, I couldn't see and had to rely solely on Melissa spotting from the passenger. I trust her more than anything, and blindly followed her directions, but having that camera would have been nice on the Bronco, too!

Yup! Also, it really comes in handy when your rock crawling and it shows your tire placement. So, overall, I think that the the 12" screen is handy. I use CarPlay to show my OnX map on that and it is nice to have it on a bigger display. But then I'm old, and you're not so you can probably see better!

Other than gearing the Sasquatch Badlands and the Nosquatch Badlands are not different enough to notice. You can add 35" to your current ride pretty easy. And adding towing is super easy. You get used to not having the front/360 camera, but as @fordvideoguy has shown you can add a camera pretty easy. The only thing I miss by not having the high package is the zone lighting having extra light in the mirrors sure would come in handy but ditch lights would solve that. Unless they are giving you a great rate or a smoking deal on yours I vote to keep what you got.

Other than that, Mrs Linclon, how did you enjoy the show. 😎 I wouldn't dismiss the 4.7 gears quite so quickly if you really take your Bronco off-road. BTW, if you have a manual non-SAS Badlands, that comes with the 4.7 gears...

Yes, but the side mirror cameras are, as far as I can tell, only accessible in 4 High/4 Low - an extra view option appears for them.
