I love my 2021 hybrid F150 4x4. My wife gets an average of 25mpg . Not sure about an all electric off road vehicle. But electric vehicles have their place , Just not for me.

A 2.7L compromises it in their opinion lol. I was also reading this: The Forest Service Is Leaning into Electric Vehicles. They aren't adding infrastructure, but it's interesting.
With the possibility of dual motors (aka Rivian), or in the case of the hybrid (which I believe has the highest tow rating of f150’s), I can’t imagine off road ability would be compromised, imho…

Had a 93 f150 300 6 cylinder 5 speed stick 3.08 gears that did that.

Rumor has it that the new, all-electric Bronco will be known as the "E-Quine."
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

You might keep in mind that with the advent of the ICE and assembly line, the naysayers were sure that the horse and buggy would last forever…. Problems were solved, efficiencies continued to be made, and the ICE became the standard…

Electrification of vehicles (and charging) on a large scale will likely follow a similar “trial and error” path.

Problems with infrastructure and battery composition and efficiency will be solved. We’re pretty good at figuring stuff out.

Just like flying cars were gonna be the norm by now. We're also good at mega failures. My dealer already has a used f150 lightning. Person that traded in said it was useless.

How many of the early car manufacturers (circa early 1900’s) are still in business… early adopters many times fail, but that doesn’t mean the concept is bad, just young and needing to develop more fully…

We’re crazy if we think early technologies are not going to have issues…. Stay tuned…

ps- most F150 owners I know don’t buy them as trucks, but as “Crown Vics with beds.” If someone bought a lightning thinking they were going to be able to tow with any success they were certainly disappointed.

Patience, grasshopper… all will be solved in time…

Hubbert had it right back in the 50's, didn't he? No he didn't.

If you get bored, read about the history of the Technocracy. They have been around along time pushing policy and agenda.

Anyone who understands basic 4th grade math should know that we cannot move over into electric transport on a large scale anytime in the near future (25 years).

I think Ford is smart offering the electrics and playing both markets as the market settles out.

If ever I do go the electric route, I will not part with my ICE Bronco. The process of getting it has made it that much more unsellable.

Peak Oil to you!

I agree Ford is approaching this with some foresight in keeping both platforms.

Having owned ICE cars, hybrids, PHEV’s, and even a 2017 Ford Focus Electric (all Fords), I have come to appreciate the possibilities electric vehicles present, as well as current limitations. I reserved a Bronco in July 2020 but held off ordering as I was hoping Ford would roll out a Bronco hybrid by now. No such luck, and when Ford basically said I had to order now or give up my spot, I ordered my incoming Bronco.

The F150 hybrid pickup provides the best towing capacity of all F150’s. Are there problems that must be addressed? Of course. There always are with new and emerging technologies…

I could be wrong, but I think oil will continue to bed utilized, but that its place in the big scheme will diminish.

Maybe in 25 years we’ll be driving vehicles driven by fusion reactors…

Happy New Year.
