I find it interesting that lot’s of people fret about convenience/luxury option packages. Then they leave the meat and potato options off like bumpers, engines, Sasquatch, rubber interior, towing and armor off their order. Then immediately run to the after market to lift, chop, tune and re-tire them. Many warranties affected.
Over complexity and weight of these electronics is often over looked.
Mid package weight: 92 Lux weight (include mid/high)118
Maybe I am in the minority here but I really want the machine over a phone charger or a heated steering wheel…
Amen. We usually load up on vehicle options but not in our bronco.
Our badlands is meat and potatoes only. We focused on suspension, bumpers etc. and making it unique like you said. Its a rare driving experience behind the wheel unlike any other car I've owned. We were focused mostly on the drive, then looks and function when building our rig.
Ours is Mid Pack with Sig light option and back up cam which works good. Washout with MGV. 7MT. No front/rear park sensors in our 4WP bumpers...can't stand the beeping and dont need it either. No ACC, no heated floor mats lol etc. and we love it. Simple. Effective. Less gremlins. Less weight. Less cost. No BS. All Bronco. Plus it has more features than our old 2010 FJ MT and way more than our old 91 Renegade MT. BUT our broncos simplicity reminds us of both latter vehicles which we love because its so hard to find these days.
Dont need or want lane keep assist, blind spot monitor, heated steering wheel, heated seats, wireless charger, larger nav screen, auto high beams etc. Sounds complicated and bright at night haha. I have an Accord Touring model with all that stuff and rarely if ever use any of it. Pay attention, dress warm and plug your phone in...and you dont need any of that jazz. A couple of these options might be ok some days but 90% of the time I wouldn't use em or wish it wasn't on my bronco.
I do find it funny how conditioned we've all become to many of these onboard gems introduced the last 20 years. Some I look for too like ventilated seats which surprisingly aren't an option on bronco (unless you have a raptor). Moreso how much dealers base the value of a vehicle on something like heated seats vs upgraded suspension. Its because more folks want heated seats I suppose. Lame but ok.
I will say two options I would be happy to have on bronco and suggest getting are built in Navigation bc cell phones lose signal on trips and ACC would be nice too for long trips but is it avail on manual trans? If not then dont need it. I love to drive so ACC I'm 50/50 on but the built-in Nav is a MUST especially in a Bronco.
The OEM stereo isn't good but honestly its good enough for us. Plus my ears are sensitive now adays after playing in a band when young and from custom car stereo systems I designed in the 1990s i.e. full 100% plexiglass box with two JL 12s and all the other goodies needed for CD's to vibrate the windows to hell back in the late 90s haha.
Oh one other feature I wish our broncos had was a CD PLAYER! Lmao. True
