Does anyone have an over the windshield light bar they have already chosen other than the $1800 factory option? Is there a clean way to mount it to the roof rack? Does Ford run any wires up there when your order the factory auxillary switches? Thanks

I haven't picked a light bar yet. I'll need one with flashing lights for working along roads. I'm sure there will be lots of options with various ways to attach them. As far as the wiring, check this thread and video:

Watched the video, pretty cool of Ford to run all those wires and make this an option. Gives many more people the ability to add aftermarket and make a fairly easy, clean and professional installation. Thanks TorgSurv.

Im leaning towards the KC Pro6 light bar and their Era4 Pods. Ford did a great job pre-running the wires for the bar as in the video above.

Yikes!! The International Space Station will be able to track you with those!! I'm looking for something that will stay waterproof and have reasonable functinality and price, maybe $400 max. Not running Baja at 100mph at night. A straight LED bar with black anodized case.

For a good and reliable LED bar you'll most likely be looking around $750+. There are cheap ones out there but as the saying goes you get what you pay for. I'd go for a name brand that's got good reviews. I just know KC (and Rigid, Fords lights) has been around for decades and continually puts out top notch products.

Never bought one, bought a couple of cheap pods to run on the T top of my boat, in salt and was surprised they lasted till I sold it, 3 years. We will see. Maybe just skip the idea.

I'm probably going for one in the $300 range but will get the Bronco before deciding on the brand . No way I'm paying $1800 for a light bar unless it's this one ,LOL .

Seriously though , a friend has this one that he spent a few minutes doing a neat silicone job to waterproof it and it's going good a couple years later

So I was looking at lighting. I’m not ready to spend hundreds on my configuration yet. Plus as others have mentioned, I’m not running the Baja at 100mph, so I was thinking of buying something cheaper and feeling it out. I found these which are rated pretty well and are cheap (so I’m expecting what I pay for). The light bar I was looking at was to be small and fit on my brush guard. I also wanted something I could use in fog or when I’m highway driving late night alone on the road.

For $1800 that buys all my lights I want to add from KC LOL Not sure why they went Rigid. I did have down the Ford (Rigid) Pods until it was a DIO and then started looking myself and with the wires ran seems pretty darn simple now.

Im wanting something for the bumper as well, but going to wait and see what AM comes out and how they work with the front camera and all.

Not sure of the exact brand but a few friends use the budget lights off Amazon with decent results . If you are willing to spend a little time taking them apart to check the wiring and then silicone when putting back together they can be useable lights for the money spent . Just look for weak solder joints and other little quality control issues and you can save a bunch . If you just put these on right out of the box and expect them to last then you will be disappointed but with a little time invested beforehand you can end up with a good working light .

I frankly expect no more than a year, two tops, but by then I’ll have figured out all my issues, use cases, and wants.:)

Light bars get stolen so often, that I will be putting on some mid-grade lights. I run the $60 Amazon bars on my Samurai, and only had to disassemble and seal the lenses properly to prevent condensation.

I am from Alaska, and you can’t leave your vehicle in the store parking lot without them getting yanked off. It was so bad, that I didn’t mount my Vision X lights on my truck until I moved. So far, in CO I haven’t had any issues.

I am in Castle Pines. First moved up to Woodland Park, which was nice and SO close to good wheeling, but employer moved us again to Denver area. Not bad, except for the traffic.
