I noticed today on the 2026 Bronco that it looks like the factory painted over corroded pitted/rusted steel on the roll cage.

I wish camera took better photos of it.

Here is the area and photos, it's about 22" long and about 2" wide

Anyone else have this? or what can the dealer do about this?

It has the shape, size, signature of what corosion looks like on steel tubing.

Not sure it is painted over rust. Looks more like they painted over a poorly prepped surface and the paint ran. I would take it in and see about getting it prepped correctly and then re-painted

Agreed - looks like paint run, ask your dealer as although its cosmetic, a quick sand and respray and it’s better than factory!

Thanks, will do. Perhaps the metal had some sort of solvent on it so paint would not stick there ?

I have seen a post with this issue in the same area. I agree it looks like the metal was not properly cleaned before paint. Or it was still wet from what ever they cleaned it with.

DJP… based on your picture here and where it is located on roll bar. I think RB was primed after it was built. The supply of RBars were stacked on top it each other on their way to the assembly plant.

Primer was worn off or paint was still soft and pulled off.

As stated talk with your dealership for a paint touch up..

Leave it alone. 40 years from now that paint blemish will give your Bronco character and make it worth more money. "Yeah, back in the day, that's the way Ford painted some of those Gen6 Broncos from the factory."

When did the very first photo materialize? If that is from your rig, it is rust. Based on all of the initial photos, that was not. I saw a Stroppe four door today that has the same look as yours does.

The dealer will send the photos to their team for warranty approval. They will check if the paint is "damaged" (e.g., chipped off by a stone) or if the defect is clearly located beneath a healthy clear coat. Anyway, best of luck.

I think you're correct, it does look like a "layer" of the paint was got stuck to something else and then pealed off.

As if primary was not dry and the roll bar stacked on top it got stuck to and ripped off.

I've enhanced some pictures.

There is a technician somewhere at MAP with a corresponding paint chip stuck to his sleeve. 😂
