You're right; I've seen Bronco Nation goods on sale on Etsy. It's weird. I would only buy Bronco Nation stuff from Bronco Nation. If you REALLY need that rocker patch, there are ways of getting one, even if that means designing one yourself and having it made (it'd probably be costly, though).

Interesting you bring up Etsy, the global supply shortage has really shifted the retail merchandise world. In recent years I've noticed a growing number of legitimately licensed retailers selling Etsy items. Of course they don't advertise that fact, but months after something appearing on Etsy it appears on retailer websites, They literally use the same stock photos and selection of 100 color varieties. Everything from band merch to Disney to the Bronco. So though the makers don't have licensing rights they sort of become legal because a licensed vendor is the end supplier. Plus small home businesses are growing. The flip side though is you could buy an item and 6 months later the same item, say a shirt, could be a totally different brand and sizing.
