Hi I have 72k on My 2022 2 dr Basesquatch, and the shifting on the transmission was getting a little notchy and abrupt, sometimes, especially 2/3 gears.
I researched a pan drop/filter change (with about 5 of the 13 quarts or so) of the tranmission fluid being change.
Although I have done all maintence so far this was a strong no for me. I didn't want the filler and sucker tanks, and the work, etc. Not lazy but this flush seemed like a better plan.
First dealer visit since new, they recommended fluid exchange which included flush solvent pre and post conditioner as well as all new factory ULV fluid.
Price 475 with tax, etc.
Very happy transmission is butter smooth now.
At 100k I will do transfer case, diff, plugs and anything else that pops up. So far the truck has been solid.
Anyone else do the fluid exchange and did it help?
Thanks

I'm at 48k and will probably get the transmission fluid changed at 50k. I've been thinking of doing it myself but haven't researched the details yet. If I can only change 5 of the 13 quarts, I'll probably have someone else do it correctly.

I changed the diffs and transfer case at 30k. That jobs pretty easy but will probably get a transfer pump the next time around as it's kinda tough putting in the new fluid without one.

I put on a rear cover with a bottom drain to make fluid changes a bit quicker too.

Yeah, thinking the same tranny & diff service, but haven't been able to source Ford Performance's rear cover M4033BR. It's been out of stock for months. Reviewers say their finish failed pretty quickly so maybe there's a product change underway..

Cheers

Do you know if they reset the transmission learning and if that may be the reason it shifts better now ?

I just did the transfer case, front diff, and transmission yesterday. I was going to drop the pan and replace the filter and put a new PPE pan on but after spending and hour trying to remove one of the two rear stud bolts I decided just to add new fluid and try the pan change another time. It was not acting up just thought it would be a good time to do it. I did use a harbor freight fluid extractor/ filler that made the oil change super easy. I have 58k miles on Darryl.
