2 Door vs 4 Door

Has anyone that started with a 2 door bronco and made the switch to a 4 door regretted it?

I really love my 2 door. It's perfect for just me. I love how nimble it is on the trail, able to make tight turns with ease which really helps on some of our Ozark trails. But I know there are obstacles where having a 4 door makes tackling them a little bit easier.

Also, the times I ride with my family (which is like maybe 6 times per year), we're not taking my vehicle since my family can't really crawl in to get in the backseat.

I'm also reminded I have a 2 door every time some new accessory comes out that is only offered for 4 door versions.

I'm basically trying to figure out my next Bronco and whether it would be a 2 door or 4 door. I know I want to upgrade and get a Badlands or another trim where the electronic disconnect is available. Lux package would be a nice to have for the 360 cameras but not absolutely necessary.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Unless you have a real need for more space the 2dr is just more fun to drive and looks like a proper Bronco, take it from, I've been there.

@Mountains2Metal just launched a slide-out tailgate for the 2-door which is pretty snazzy.

I was eyeballing that last week.. Went through the checkout process and they want $275 to ship it.. Hard pass!

If not for the insane shipping, I probably wld have ordered it as it does look super sweet.. No way I am paying almost half the price of the item in shipping cost..

Wow. Yeah that would be a pass from me too if I'm being honest.

I've bought several things from M2M, and shipping costs pretty average. But I guess now that I think about it, I've never bought anything "big" from them.

I do know they often sell parts at shows, so if you are going to SuperCel East or something... probably worth seeing if they're going.

I contacted them via phone to ask about the insane shipping. They said they'd check to see if it was the correct shipping fees and that they'd call me back.. They never did.

Not a big deal but a lost sale on their end...

It’s still showing $275 for shipping

I wonder if they ever attend Bronco events and bring any with them for sale. That's one way to avoid the exorbitant shipping cost. I know that I've saved a bunch of money buying things at the Overland Expos.
Chris here. I drive "Lebowski," a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands Sasquatch. Lux package. 2.7L V6. Automatic transmission.

I know they’ve been at Super Cel East the past two years. They’re based in North Carolina.

Absolute insanity..

I sold my power tank setup with brackets and mounts and it was like $80 for me to ship it to the buyer.. I'd assume my power tank set up weighed more and needed a larger box then their slide out..

Not sure where they come up with their shipping fees but there is no way it's $275 to ship that unless they are overnighting it..

M2M emailed me and after a few back and forth emails they offered to ship it for $225 instead of $275. The $225 is still sky high IMO so I decided to pass..

The weird part was they said I can add more to an order and the shipping would be the same.. Wait, what? Charge me the actual shipping cost for the item I order. I'd guess this could be shipped by FedEx Home for a fraction of their quote.

They told me it ships LTL with
liftgate.. Does this weigh 300 pounds?

I think they need to redo their shipping as something is not right..

Anywho, moving on and with the hunt for an alternative...

This is strike 2 for me.. The Goose Gear I was looking at ended up needing an additional $500 option to work and the shipping on this is insanely high...

Someone out there will eventually take my moola.. LOL

Edit to add: He did say they will be at Super Cell East and will have a few there but I am not attending..

I think they sell the item for less and are making it up on shipping. I suppose there is away to check what it actually costs to ship. I’ve had parts places have a great price on a part but then charge more for shipping than the part. Found another source with a slightly higher price for the part but the shipping was way less. Ended up being less overall

The $700 price for the item appears to be about right IMO. Here is a link to the actual product.

I assume the shipping price is high because they are shipping it LTL with liftgate service. Unless it weights over 150 pounds, that makes no sense to me at all. FedEx Home would be a fraction of the cost and you can ship up to 150 pounds through them.

I can't imagine this thing weighs over 150 pounds..

No clue really and I do appreciate them knocking the shipping cost down by $50 but $225 is still insanely high IMO..

Random thoughts on shipping.... I do a bit of shipping. I am often charged more for volume than weight, up until I hit certain weights. I am charged more for lift gate service. Anything that has one dimension over 48 inches is charged extra and often forced to go LTL.... Shipping to a residence cost significantly more than shipping to a business. For smaller items I find that USPS is typically much less expensive. At one time I had better service (the packages arrived undamaged) through UPS now I find FedEX protects my shipments dramatically better.

I like the looks of the two-door > than the four-door. I needed to go with the four-door because I'll be towing a 2K LBS Pontoon, and the four-door makes it much easier to tow. I towed my boat with my Badlands Sport, sudden stops were interesting, and the climb up from Shasta Lake to Mt. Lassen where I live, required a couple rest stops to chill things. That's just a fyi for anyone thinking about towing with the Badlands Sport

2D Forever!

2D for me too, purist, original Broncos were 2dr. I though it was bad when Jeep introduced 4 drs. First saw those on the Rubicon. I understand the need for 4drs and they are a must if you want to get your whole family into 4 wheeling. I have 60 years off roading and sticking with my TWO DOOR BRONCO! (All my kids have their own toys now)

I never understood Jeep adding a 4 door wrangler when they already offered 4 door Cherokees.
People talk about high speed off road. The trails here are low range 2nd gear maybe.
2door only for me, its about looks and maneuverability. The extra room is of no use to me, the extra seats and doors are a waste of raw materials. No one will ever ride in the back seat

I really love my 2 door. It's perfect for just me. I love how nimble it is on the trail, able to make tight turns with ease which really helps on some of our Ozark trails. But I know there are obstacles where having a 4 door makes tackling them a little bit easier.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Well, as rare as 2drs are becoming, now only offering 2 trims for the 2dr, it would be cool to keep it. However, if you're like me you dont have car money to throw around. Although, I bet in a few years you can find an

I started looking at the 4dr since I had a 4dr Jeep Rubicon and loved it offroad. But, not long after watching the reveal I decided on a 2dr. I mean just look at it! So iconic. Of course you have to rethink packing for your trips, but for me, I would not switch to a 4dr.
I have to say it's only me and my wife, so a 2dr is great for us. In your case, I would get the 4dr so you can take it out, then in a couple years get a 2021/22 2dr for cheap and keep them both.

Funny.... Around here there were a lot of Broncos early on... But I live where the mountains meet the dessert and everyone seems to want a 4x4..... But now (April 2026) over the last few months I am seeing lots of 2 doors that I have never seen before... I mean lots! And yet none on the lots. Quite a few 4 doors on the lots but no 2 doors. I can not figure out where this influx of 2 doors is coming from.
