2 door dilemma

Looking to trade my 2018 raptor in for a nice 2 door bronco. Looking for aggressive look but staying on pavement so comfort. I’ve narrowed it down to a 2024 wildtrak with 354 lux package and 6 cylinder or 2025 badlands with Sasquatch, hoss 3.0 and 4 cylinder. Pros/cons
2024 2door wildtrak ($60k)
- 6 cylinder
- $5k less than a new build
- no new digital instrument panel, vents etc
- limited selection
2025 badlands custom order ($66k) pic above
-get exactly what I want
- new instrument panel, rear vents, charger
-4 cyl but test drove a 4 and no issues at all
-overkill since no off road but hear hoss 3 is better comfort driving on all surfaces
-12speaker b&o system& better roof insulation
Opinions? Saving 5 to 6K worth getting the 24? Shame there aren’t any more options in two door this year. Thanks

Given the two choices in front of me, I'd go with the Wildtrak.
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

Thank you everybody for all of your input. I am new to this forum but when I ordered my raptor in 2018, I got vast knowledge out of the raptor forum like here. As expected, I’ve changed my mind 100 times over with all the comments but at least now I feel like I’m narrowing it down to make a decision. I’ve learned thanks to the responses that the 2025 has no rear seat air vents for a two door which I really don’t care about anyway and apparently no cordless phone charger which probably wouldn’t work with my phone case. So I’m basically down to a new custom built 25 or ‘24 wildtrak both 2 door and 3.0 suspension. I’m really more concerned about the interior, technology, and comfort features since I’m not taking it off road and it’s pretty much spec the same outside of the engine. I can’t see any change in the 25 from the 24 except for the additional couple of speakers and the new digital instrument panel. I can add speakers, but the instrument panel is nice looking. But for about $4k I can put a hell of a stereo system in there and just deal with the instrument panel, which isn’t that bad. And on a flip note, I don’t think resale value say 5 to 8 years from now on the 25 of the 24 would make much difference? Again, thanks for the help.

Also if you get the 24 you don't have to wait as long. good luck keep us posted as what you end up with. there really is no wrong answer here.

I’m told I’m about three months for my 25 order delivery and the few vehicles that match my 24 description are about 500 miles away so a thousand dollars in transport. I’m looking at ‘24 loaded WT (cactus or burnt orange that I like) vs ‘25 loaded BL and roughly $4k difference. I just can’t see anything other than the nice new digital instrument panel that’s a difference so it’s basically 2.7 and no new panel vs 2.3 with new panel? I think I’ve answered my own question

I purchased a 2024 Cactus Wildtrak 4-door with high/lux package at the end of April. It was $61K with employee pricing. Loving the 2.7L with the 315 tires. Traded in my 2009 F-150, which I drove like a sports car! I'll have to take it easy on the freeways now, but now have access to a whole lot of trails in the area. I test drove the 2.3L and it was not enough power for me.

I am genuinely curious as to what people are doing to where the 2.3L does not have enough power for them. I get it that some just want more power, which is cool and all, but what are you doing to where you need more power in a Bronco?

Torque is the biggest improvement. The 2.3 to me was noisy and it needed to be revved just to get going. The 2.7 pulls away effortlessly even when towing and is quieter overall. Sure you can add parts and a tune to get more out of the little 4 , but then again you can do the same to the 6 for even more.

BTW, half the stuff on the Bronco people never need, lol .

Okay, I get it that some may want the increased torque or power but I have no issues towing a small camper with my 2.3L. I don't need to rev the engine just to get going.. It scoots along just fine and so far, I've not needed any more power than what the 2.3L provides.. My camper is small and only weighs like 1,500 pounds so maybe that's why my 2.3L scoots it along..

I have no issue at all with people wanting more power, I'm just curious as to why some say they need it.

Actual use case scenarios where more power in the Bronco would be needed is what I am after with my question.

I am not trolling and am genuinely curious as to the actual use cases for a Bronco..

I googled. A great answer.

The same reason they need 80″ LED TV's, $1000 iPhones, $300 shoes, sailboats, RV's, beach houses, or any number of other things people enjoy who have the means.
Life isn't about what we need, it's about making it fun, and horsepower in cars is fun! If we only had what we needed, and worse if we were only allowed what we needed, life would be boring and pointless.

Cool, so it's a want not a need. A few people have said they need the 2.7L and I am wondering what they are doing with their Bronco to need the 2.7...

Probably because we are American men. We like horsepower, and torque. We also like supersonic aircraft, machineguns, Kodiak bears, brown liquor, and and big boobs. We think that men who do not like those things are weird.

Count me as a weirdo then... 😩 😂

I'm not a big HP person (my son is - he has a Hellcat and a 1970 Nova SS), I don't care about supersonic aircraft, I do like guns, I avoid bears, I don't drink alcohol and am not into the massive knockers..

Seriously though, this 2.3L vs 2.7L comes up often here and on the other forum. The 2.7L owners often say they need the 2.7L so I am trying to understand the need for a Bronco.

I do fully understand wanting more HP and torque...

Mine is not a need at all.... I do not "NEED" the 2.7 at all.... I recognize that., and I do not care how many cylinders I have.... BUT I do think that the more torque I can get at the lower RPM, the easier it is on the trail for me. Obstacles are significantly easier if I can have very good turn control over my tires and higher torque at lower RPM helps that cause dramatically. That is why I am a really really big fan of electrical..... SOMEDAY.... for me right now the trade off is too large. Current (pun intended) options the trade off is too great. The WEIGHT that comes with electric works against you. SOMEDAY we will have a combination of fuel cell, battery, and super capacitor that will weigh the same or less than an ICE option. THEN! THEN electric WILL be far superior to a combustion engine. The TORQUE in an electric can not be matched, not even close even with a V16...... I used to wrench on the very first hybrids made in the 1940s and 50s by EMD and General Electric..... Locomotives... They have electric motors for a reason and they get electricity through a V12, V16, V18 or V20 diesel generator.... OFF TOPIC...

So I do have a 2.7. The towing capacity of a Bronco is limited by it's suspension not the options for drive line. the 2.7 has more horse power and more torque than the 5.3 V8 in my little GMC Canyon.... But delivery is a bit different. It is peakier. The HP and torque curves are significantly shorter.... I do miss the longer curve that is higher in the lower RPMs when out on the trail. I do not miss it at all when I am on the road..... Just my observations, likes and dislikes....

My son is a General Foreman for the railroad and oversees the entire locomotive repair shop.. He knows far more about this stuff than I ever will..

Thanks for the excellent response to my question.. 👍

I suggest going to one of those threads where someone actually said they NEED more power and ask them directly. I can't recall ever coming across a post that someone said they needed more power. I have read many that said they liked/prefer the extra power from the 2.7

I did, right here in this thread..

I am not about to scour the internet for previous threads on the topic. I honestly don't care but this topic, and the need for more power, pops up frequently in these 2.3L to 2.7L threads..

If you've never seen threads where people say they need more power then cool beans.

At any rate, no need to continue this line of discussion as @Unicorn has given the best, and most rational, response thus far.

I test drove the 2.3L and it was not enough power for me.

Now to be fair, I inferred this meant he needed more power for something.. Maybe he ment he wanted more power.. But that is why I asked in post 27 if it was a need or a want and awaaaaaaaaaaaaaay we went to the dark side... 😂
