Ford sent out a dealer communication today. Production volumes will continue to increase, but to improve odds of being scheduled within Feb 2022, customers may want to remove and install later:
  • Trailer Tow –– See our How-To on ordering and installing yourself.
  • MIC hard top -- Switch to the soft top.
  • Paint protection film -- available here on accessories.ford.com.

already removed tow from my order, didn't order PPF ... but the MIC is a must for me... I'm not gonna shell out thousands of dollars to get one later

Thanks for the update Laura! Any idea when these items will no longer be such an issue? And I'm sure like many, I'm still trying to wrap my head around why paint protection and a tow hitch have become so hard to come by. I know...supply chain. Lol

Hopefully Ford will learn from this and be able to plan for anything if they introduce a huge vehicle like this again.

Maybe in 2023 Ford will announce a 2DR soft top so July 2020 2dr orders have a chance. I wish they did from the start, would love a soft top.
