When I got my bronco I bought a 40 inch rough country light bar.
Now I am undecided where to mount it both for performance and cosmetics.
I kinda like the looks without it, but extra light would be nice. I have the cowl lights already.
I placed it on the bumper and rack and took photos.
Looking for input.

Great looking Bronco! Don't know for sure about RC's light bar, but these usually include both fog and spot lights. My light guy says a general rule for spots is the higher they're positioned the further out they'll reach.

Your Bronco may decide for youβ¦
If you mount it on top of the windshield, you will likely have extra wind noise which may not be acceptable for you.
I had a the M&R mounted on the top of the windshield in my soft top Badlands and it made some extra noise but I was OK with it. I mounted on my Braptor bumper and added a 50β KC Gravity set up on the top of the windshield which is SIGNIFICANTLY less noisy (but, it could be due to the hard top).

I agree with Bschurr.... up top will create wind noise... the spots will shine out further but how fast are you driving at night? I bet down low would be fine for you. I personally like the look down low but... temporarily throw a couple leads to the battery at night and see if the light "throw" meets your needs. If it does not, put it up top.

I did both the upper and lower dual amber/white from M&R. I chose these for wind noise (vs big round lights), lumens, and looks. Upper has a little wind noise but hardly noticeable with the radio on, top off, and Rousch exhaust. π Comments from others are accurate: uppers throw light farther. Both look great IMO.

Thank you.
I see you also have the ditch lights like me. If you had to choose on your bronco between one location, bumper or top, I am guessing you would choose on top?

Very nice Bronco.
Thanks all for the kind words. I do love our Bronco.
For functionality and more show, I would have it up top. For stealth looks and no noise, I would go low.

Is nighttime off-roading a thing? I can't imagine doing in the dark the kind of off-roading I do.
Or are people running this lights on the street and annoying the heck out of every other driver? I've found the automatic high-beams to be perfect for dark streets.

For me it night time only. Where I live more light than stock is a good thing just for the road to my house. Or there are those times when you were just on a three hour tour and the weather started getting rough (Sing to the tune of Gilligan's Island) and your still on the trail after dark.
When I was a young buck, I did wheel at night. A full moon on a trail is soo cool.

On some easier terrain night-time off roading is a blast. To your point, I don't get crazy and no spotting needed for us at night. Think dunes or logging roads. On desolate country roads I do run my lights sometimes (shhhh) cuz bambi around here is unpredictable. I just shut them down if I see another car anywhere.

Niceto hear you are being a good citizen. We don't need to give pavement people more reasons to shut down our fun. π
