Howdy! I'm a potential first time Bronco owner. While not an off-roading enthusiast, I do make at least 1 off-roading trip a year. This vehicle would primarily be my daily driver, of which I do very little actual daily driving (I work from home). I'm looking at a '22 Outer Banks Advanced, 2.3L, 4-door, soft top, 313A at MSRP of $51,855 + $2500 dealer markup.

Within 500 miles, that's the lowest dealer markup I've found for the vehicle I'm interested in. I could really use a vehicle, but am not in total desperate need of one today. Should I wait? While markups may be coming down, I fear MSRP will be creeping up. If you were me based on my needs - would you do it?

I've never done rodeo. This opens up a whole new lifestyle for me. I'm going from a Mustang to a Bronco (hence the 'horsegirl', lol). Plan is to fly up on the 23rd from TX to TN and drive it back.
Very good: you are a woman of impeccable automotive sense. My interest is because I'm shopping around a novel which includes a rodeo subplot, and I'm looking for experienced rodeo hands (female, especially) to critique and fact-check me. I'm so glad I stumbled across that post on Bronco6G, and it suits your needs (and desires!).
Ride long, and prosper.

I'm surprised you have not found a dealership that will not order you a Bronco at MSRP. We have a dealer list here and these 3 dealerships in San Antonio sold their ordered Broncos at sticker. Have you talked to these dealers?
Northside Ford: San Antonio, TX
Jordan Ford: San Antonio, TX
Red McCombs Ford: San Antonio, TX

@hkbooner or @Jakob1972 might be able to give you some advise.
My brother used Jordan and they worked with him on price and trade. I used Ford of Boerne and it was MSRP +$1200 for mats tint and paint protection.
We are here at katemcy rocks with a Raptor owner that got his through Blue Bonnet for MSRP. That speaks volumes to me.
Bronco Nation 1100. Everglades, Desert Sand

Cool. But if the info is correct, she has a Bronco at her trim level for MSRP, and will take ownership in a week or so--no wait, no uncertainty. But your recommendations of dealers for service, warranty, and accessories should be helpful. That's what we're here for!
Happy trails to you.

Me too, and I have no regrets. Although I did keep my Shelby now I can keep it's miles down and enjoy 2 very different types of adventures. The Off-Rodeo is worth while and there is actually one in Texas so you might meet some local Bronco enthusiasts. Enjoy your rig, your drive home will be a blast!!

Awesome for you!! Definitely in the right place, at the right time, and asked the right question. It’s great when a plan comes together. By the way…the B6G post shows it’s sold. 👍🏼

If that's what you want, and doin't want to wait 500+ days (like I did), I say GO FOR IT! Personally, I don't think anything is coming down very soon. 😎

Definitely wait until the order bank open again if you are not in need of a vehicle now and you are not pining for a Bronco ASAP. When they do open, I recommend reaching out to William Franklin at Northside Ford. He was wonderful to work with and they are in the top 20 dealerships Nationwide (he said something like they are on the Ford Presidential List or something like that) so they have really good allocation numbers. I was super lucky and got mine rather fast (relative to others...10 months after ordering and being a late reservation holder in June 2021). Had all the options on mine that were said to push builds out as well, minus the hard top.

Although I did not purchase a Ford through Red McCombs Ford, I think Red McCombs is overall a great dealership. I bought a Hyundai Palisade when they first came out through Red McCombs Superior Hyundai. When everyone else was trying to price gouge or add on extra crap charges for things I never wanted, they removed the charges.

I have co-workers that have gone through Jordan Ford for other vehicles and have had positive experiences but no personal experience with them.

Good luck with your future Bronco purchase!

I hate to say this and I am sure that some folks here might get mad at me. I don't think that Dealership Markups are going away anytime in the near future. It looks like the Bronco's with the options that people are desiring are only going to go up in price from this point. It all depends on what Ford is officially getting ready to release to the public regarding current orders and future orders. I think that you need to ask yourself a few, simple yes or no questions:

1. Do you need a new car?
2. Do you want a new car?
3. Can you afford the price that they are asking?
4. Are you settling for this Bronco or would you rather have another version?

If you answered "YES" to these questions I think that you have your answer. I got blessed, I ordered July of 2021 and Impatiently waited 480 for our Bronco to arrive. We did not settle for another color, model, option package or engine. In fact if I was still waiting, it looks like I would not be getting a Bronco until 2024. Our Cactus Grey, four door, hardtop, Lux, tow package, Wildtrak came in and was worth the wait. We felt a longer wait was worth getting exactly what we wanted.

If you want it, can afford it, then go for it!

So I fly out Friday to Nashville to pick up my new Bronco. Do I need a new car? Yes. Is this the exact model + extras I want? No. The biggest sacrifice being the high or lux pkg. It's equipped with the mid.

So, I'm missing out on the 360 camera and 12" screen and a few tech extras. Kinda sucks, but not that big of a deal. I get a hard top and that's great; the aftermarket hard tops were ridiculously expensive. Plus I'm paying sticker and maybe there is something to be said about principles and not supporting markup and maybe there is added value there that is incalculable... that's all debatable but I'm feeling empowered and prideful about my decision.

Or maybe not. I don't know how the market is going to shake out in the next 1-3 years, but I do know that I have a vehicle I want, at a price point I am happy with, and do not have to humiliate myself by driving a Bronco Sport around town which, believe it or not, was in consideration for a while. #kiddingnotkidding

If you want a aftermarket warranty. Look at Granger Fords website. You can get a good price comparison before you make any decisions. Good luck

Your statement about principles is spot on. Without them you have nothing. There is definitely something to be said about supporting a dealership that isn’t all about the money. I’m really happy you found your Bronco and love the fact that you have kept things in perspective…unlike me. I’m still learning… Safe travels home with your new best friend!

Hey Hilabeans,

Most definitely you should do it. I have tons of off road experience, but I still did the Moab Off-Roadeo, and it was well worth it. You will leave the event, knowing your Bronco way better, and also, and most importantly, knowing its capabilities inside and out. Just do it!
