As many of us know, weeks ago we got an email from Ford saying Wildtrak will probably not be built and 2023MY order will be canceled.

The Wildtrak is still listed on Fords build and price tool. Weird.

Not exactly sure if you are asking a question or not, but here goes. Like every MY since these started rolling off the assembly line in June of 2021, there are some serious issues with parts constraints. And there are still many people who placed orders with certain dealerships that still have way more orders left than they can get allocations for. And just like in previous years Ford has told customers that they will not be able to build enough vehicles that have certain constrained items, and that customers should consider changing those builds to have the best chance of getting pulled for build. The big difference is that starting in MY24 the price protections from previous years will have gone away. Just like they told us when PP started in MY22. So they are building them and will continue to do so, as many as they can. They didn’t delete the WT model, it is just heavily constrained. They can and are building them, but just not enough. If I was still waiting and I was close, and my dealership had allocations? I would wait as long as I could before I changed my build. Right now the order banks are still closed and no new orders can be taken. WT is on the build and price still because it is a model that Ford currently produces.

You can only wait till March 7 to change order. If you have a WT trim and don't change order, it is probably going to be canceled when 2024MY comes out. There will be no 2023 to 2024 order conversions this year.

I debate the statement that order banks are closed to new orders. Some have ordered new already for 2023.

Only going by the information that’s out there, and I am sure that someone always has a work around for everything. Like I said if I was close, I would wait till the last minute to make the change over. And any order that is not picked up for a MY23 definitely has to start over fresh with no PP. Thank god I don’t have to make that decision.

Work with a woman who "ordered" a Bronco 7-8 months ago. She said it was on its way. Turns out it's a dealer stock (you guessed it, Big Bend 4 door rag top 2.3 non squatch) that she put a deposit on when when the dealer got confirmation. Did not go into the minutia of constraints when she tried to explain to me why she did not squatch it. Lots of misinformation out there...

As far as I know the rumors still show 3/27 as the tentative date for new MY23 ordering to begin and August as the tentative date for MY24. For me if I still had an order pending and was close to getting pulled, I would let it ride, make no changes and pray to the gods to shine a bright light upon me and hopefully get pulled before the order banks open for MY24. Until the MY24 opens, I believe all the same factors are still in play for this MY, but I honestly haven’t paid much attention to the hard decisions that are upcoming.
