Vinyl seats in Phoenix?

I like the idea of a wash-down interior, but I’m not so sanguine about vinyl seats. I’m afraid that they may get burning hot in the summer out here.
Thoughts?

This would be a great thing to look at for the new video they are doing on the Overlander concept and Filson concepts.
I hear the MGV feels like broken in leather but if I was getting the automatic I would use the remote start and get that interior cooled be fore I got there.

The good old days. Vinyl seats and rubber floor mats were stock. Carpeting and cloth seats cost extra...

I have a feeling this isn’t your dad’s vinyl. Probably pretty nice.

When I first moved out here (1983) I used to carry a beach towel to put on the seat of my POS Malibu Classic, so I didn’t burn my legs. I’m not sure I want a return to those days...

You can always get the sheep skin seat covers if the MGV is too hot.

I had sheepskin seat covers on my HARLEY and LOVED THEM. Does not burn or sweat you in the summer, and warm in cold weather.

I'm in Oklahoma and getting a 2-door Base. I would bite the bullet and swap my cloth seats for any MGV seats for you Phoenix guys/girls.

From Phoenix too. I was a bit weary about the vinyl seats as my only experience with vinyl car seats is from my parents 1970-something Oldsmobile station wagon. However if you read people's impressions of them from Super Cel E+W and Moab, the MGV seats are not like those at all. It sounds like they are really high quality and feel great. They are black though and the Phoenix sun is hot, so it's not inconceivable that I'll get some kind of seat cover, but I do like the durability of the MGV.

I am hoping Ford will offer interior colors other than all black. Such as a Tan interior color for seats, carpet, headliner, side panels - as this will also keep the vehicle at a cooler temp. The tan color interiors also look great, a couple of examples...
I also posted here about the tan color, please vote in the poll https://community.thebronconation.com/forums/threads/bronco-with-tan-interior-color.2667/

MGV is regular vinyl that’s treated to resist mold and UV. It‘s not going to crack like seats in 1970’s cars. As a boat owner I can attest that MGV seats get very hot. My last boat had white and light gray seats while my current boat has medium gray and light blue seats and both get very hot on a sunny day over 80. The MGV on both boats felt nice and soft but MGV is still hot as hell in the sun. Don‘t be fooled into believing anything else. That said I still plan to get either the Black Diamond or Badlands with MGV and will use some sort of cotton seat cover that’s easy to remove and wash.

I had black vinyl seats in my old jeep. I ran neoprene seat covers on it when I was stationed out in Hawaii and ran no doors and a bikini top. if I parked at the wrong angle the vinyl would heat up to a billion degrees in the sun. The covers solved that problem and kept them from being ruined in the afternoon rain. There are a ton of nice covers out there that are available. I guess it comes down to what is more important- easy cleanup and dealing with the negatives of vinyl, or more comfort, but the opportunity to ruin the seat foam or mud stains in cloth. Or you could go leather and run seat covers in door-off season.

Yeah, I would always carry two towels. One to lay over the steering wheel and one for my seat.

Am I the only one that wants the Black interior? Most Fords you have to get a special edition to get the black interior. I just really like the way it looks. All my Fords before have had grey or tan interior and my Mustang had Maroon that faded to a nice purple. I am looking forward to black. I’ve lived in Texas my whole life and never found the black interior to be a problem. I love the black interior in our LTZ suburban, and the mostly back interior in my Camaro. That said I have never owned a convertible so I guess that might change things.

The only convertible that I have had came with tan seats so I have no idea how hot black could get. I guess I will find out although Indiana heat/humidity is much different than Texas, Florida and Phoenix heat/humidity.

Nope, I'm looking forward to the black MGV with washout interior too on my Badlands build. Since living in Phoenix, I've had a '97 Mustang with grey cloth seats and a 2014 Escape with tan leather interior. In the same period my wife has had a Z3 with black leather interior and a c-class with red leather interior. I've never found an appreciable difference in the leathers when it comes to temperature. They are all hot as hades in the summer. I think the tan in my Escape looks really nice, but its so hard to keep the seats and carpets clean that I REALLY want something darker.

Its all personal taste, and nobody is right or wrong. I think Ford had to limit the numbers of permutations on their builds to keep some semblance of manufacturing efficiency, which is why the interior options are so limited on the trims. I do hope everyone who is passionate about the Bronco is able to find a combination of trim, colors, and features that makes them happy!

Do the front seats have any airbags in them?

If not, I'd like to find some covers to keep the seats fresh and clean.

My 13 Mustang has a black interior. It does look clean, and it hasn't faded at all, barely any cracks/wrinkles as well. The seats are outlined with leather while the back rest and where your butt sits is a faux suede.
