Two door or moredoor?

I have had several EB's, or Gen1's in my day, I just love the way they look. Being in Knoxville and seeing all the super celebration rides show up has my juices flowing! Anyway, my wife and I have quadruplets who are all going off to college this fall. I want to get a Gen6 this summer so the wife and I can do some overlanding once we are empty nesters. (so weird to think about!) This is my question. Are there any 2 door guys who regret not getting a bigger ride? I am mainly concerned with storage behind the rear seats. I really want a 2 door, but I do fear the lack of storage. I intend to get a roof rack and put a clam-shell tent of some kind up there, so that might limit up-top storage also. Anyway, just thinking through some stuff, thought I'd ask the brain trust for your $.02
Thanks, as always!

Ahh the old two door vs. four door question...

My wife and I bought the two door because we liked the looks more, and the kids are all out of the house, so no real need to tote others around. Having said that, we were pressed for space on our Moab trip. Three Milwaukee Packouts full of gear, and two suitcases just about filled it up. We made it work though, and haven't ever regretted getting a two door since we've owned it. Unless you're a hardcore offroader, most wheelbase differences won't be noticed, and certainly the ride between the two won't amount to much of a noticeable difference either.

Both the two and four door variants look great. Get what you think looks better, and you'll be happy with your purchase either way.

Now when it comes to color, we all know what looks best. 😉

Selling our Mustang is out of the question though! Don't fall for it Tim!
Thanks, Jeff!
I agree, A51 IS the best color… ;)

Only get the Eruption green if you okay with getting complements and thumbs up by vehicles you pass while on a tailride with 15 other broncos.

I think all the colors are awesome.... Now that I tinted my windows I have people coming up and taking pictures of my Bronco While I am sitting in it... waiting in a parking lot, happened 3 times in the last week. I don't think they can see me.

I think @raqball helped the OP the most with his answer.

How it wound up getting hijacked by the more door folks I don't know. He was asking those of us with our classic looking, 2 door, real Bronco's if we were happy or if we wished we went to the dark side and got one of those smooth riding limousines.

All kidding aside, @Bronco Scout I hope we were helpful before we went down the rabbit hole. Don't give upon us, that just seems to happen here.

Agreed. Sorry it went down the rabbit hole. Hopefully there was some insightful responses to lead you to a purchase that will ultimately make you content.

Having said that, Hot Pepper Red 2 doors really do attract the most positive attention, thereby increasing Bronco sales and ultimately more subscriptions to Bronco Nation.

I don't think so, Jeep didn't introduce the 4 door until 2006. 2 years AFTER Ford made their concept Bronco public, which means it was in the works years before the public knew about it AND on top of it , it was a 2 door.No 4 door was mentioned.

So you think Ford didn't know Jeep was going to introduce the 4dr Wrangler ahead of its 2006 introduction? The 4dr Wrangler has been on the market since 2007, 13 years before the 6G Bronco (incl. the 4 door) was officially announced in 2020. 13 years is a more than enough time to develop a new model based off an existing (Ranger) chassis.

My point was they had the 2004 Concept Bronco long before they could have known about the Jeep 4 door.AND that vehicle was a 2 door.
If ford was motivated by Jeeps 4 door to produce a new Bronco they would have done it 15 years ago.
I think the motivation to produce a new Bronco was the Ranger. With no Ranger the driveline and architecture for the chassis would not be there. The more door concept has nothing to do with Jeep , its Fords MO on everything. The only thing they haven't completly ruined with that philosophy is the Mustang, but they managed to tarnish its good name with that abortion ev. Everything they sell is a 4 door, its disgusting.
But like everything else mentioned in this thread its just speculation ,none of this has been confirmed by anyone from Ford.

I have to disagree and stand by my initial statement. Jeep had nothing to lose building a 4dr Wrangler because it had no competition.

Excerpt from a 2015 article on the Bronco revival topic from the truth about cars: "One of the biggest factors driving Wrangler’s growth over the last decade has been the introduction of the four-door Unlimited in 2007, with a take-rate of 70 percent. Purists may bemoan a four-door Bronco, but without one the Bronco cannot generate the sales volume necessary to justify itself. A two-door only Bronco would end up joining other promising-but-dead products like Excursion and T-Bird. The new Bronco must be an off-road capable, open-top, emotive, fun machine offered in two- and four-door wheelbases." That article also notes revival of the Ranger is key to Bronco as well for a platform partner.

Again, speculation on Parks part.None of his statements have been confirmed by Ford.Dead products? Ford themselves killed the T-Bird with the retro bird mistake.
Right now even with 4 doors, sales numbers aren't enough to justify continued production of the Bronco.
Ford canceled sedans because they were only selling 300k units annually, the Bronco hasn't sold that many in 4 years.

Facts. I have the circa 2005/06 Media release. The retro Stang and GT made it. Bronco didn't until 2021 but honestly I think the overall package and appearance was greatly improved in the subsequent 15 years.

Agreed: get what you want and keep Mustangs. I also prefer the 2 door but if being totally honest I don't think either looks quite right. The 2 door is too short and a just a tad bit silly (jeepish) looking and the 4 door is way too long and absurd looking (for my tastes not necessarily anyone elses) ideally I wish there were a 2 door that was slightly longer and in a perfect world would not have the rear seats above the rear axle eliminating storage. But you can't have everything.

Long wheel base Bronco like the Jeep CJ7? Bronco Super Cab 2 door?

Doesn't matter what you buy as long as you have fun with it.

But if you ask me Velocity Blue 2 door gets the win.

You might have the media release from 2005/6, but the 2004 Concept was known in 2004.@ years before Jeep released the 4 door wrangle.

Yeah the COM and Velocity Blue are both amazing. Using the build my Ford tool I went back and forth so many times. Ford really knows how to do blues and the VB just never gets old.
