Hello fellow impatient Bronco people!:giggle:
Just thought I’d throw this out here, in case it’s not common knowledge, as it was wasn’t for me.

I’ve been having color regret recently, as I saw in person the color I was strongly considering but ultimately decided against, because I couldn’t pull the trigger when all I could see was a thumb sized dealer paint sample. Anyhooooo… I shot a text to my guy telling him to please change the color on my order. Everything else is good.

His reply was this: I’m currently priority level 10 and 10th in line for bronco orders at his dealership. If I make ANY changes, no matter how small there is a very real possibility my priority level could drop to 19, he’s seen it a lot recently. But no guarantees either way of course, because duh. I asked about removing options to possibly counteract the change, strongly advised against that.

Today I called Ford customer service (waited over 40 minutes, but make sure if you call BE NICE) hoping to get any kind of confirmation with what my guy told me regarding order changes and how Ford may handle that. She was very sweet, but basically gave me the verbal equivalent of a shrug to every question I had unfortunately…

So… think long and hard before changing your order. Removing options, even with the best of intentions might work AGAINST you.

He’s giving you the runaround.
Priority codes 10-19 are all the same rank.

Now - that’s not to say that changing your order won’t negatively affect your build date. It’s certainly possible that changing your order will cause Ford to re-evaluate your order based on their scheduling algorithm. In fact, it’s certain to.
But, that has nothing to do with priority codes.

(This is all IMHO, FWIW. I don’t work for Ford).

He's feeding you BS!! 10-19 on the Bronco mean the same thing, I've probably done 4-5 changes since my initial order in Jan 2021 and still have a 10 LOL

I wonder what the actual ratio to information/ misinformation is coming at us from the dealership? Maybe an even more interesting percentage would be # of dealers knowingly lying vs passing on something they think they know.

Good gog, customer service reps would stay as drunk as we do if they drank every time they hear "My dealer said" Two drinks, one for "My dealer said" and one for the customer rep...

I changed my order a couple times. I had been a 19 through it all until my final change and at that time i asked my dealer nicely if she’d switch me to a 10. She did when she made my final change. I got notified of a build week a handful of days after. Now I don’t know if it was me dropping my tow package or the switch to 10 that made that happen, but either way, your priority number os assigned by your dealer.

I've been at priority 11 the whole time, and made 4 changes before I had to reorder in October. Ford gave me way too much time to look at my options!

I too, have made LOTS of changes previously and only recently found out what my priority number is, so I have no idea what it may have been before.
I trust our guy 100% for many reasons I won’t get into, and I will say he may be wrong, but there’s no way he’s giving us misinformation on purpose. Not his style, which is why we’ve ordered every personal and business vehicle we own through him.

Obviously, do what you need to do. I was just trying to maybe help out someone with what I had learned about my personal situation. Carry on.

Not being rhetorical, actual question: if the priority codes 10-19 are all the same, then what are they? Or what’s the point of having 10-19?

In any other instance, those would be used by the dealer to prioritize their orders, but since the Bronco was rolled out with the reservation system, they are essentially meaningless. For the Bronco, there are only 3 reservation numbers ( or sets)
1. Priority 1 - every dealer was given 1-2 extra special priority orders last summer to use on themselves, a golf buddy, whatever.
2. Priority 10-19 - basically please build me
And
3. Priority 99 - Hold, do not build. For people waiting for extra options, colors, trims to come out

It's up to you to believe if reservation numbers actually mean anything anymore

You asking for your order to be changed creates what I assume is a few minutes of monotonous work that your dealer has to complete. Why do that and be helpful to your customers when you can spend more time and effort lying and manipulating to avoid doing the work?

I have been working for Ford dealerships for 40+ years, ordering vehicles for 20. Just some clarification: A reservation number and a priority number a two entirely different things. All retail orders when entered into the system by the dealer default to a priority 19 order status. 2021 Bronco reservation orders defaulted to a 99 status when Ford entered them into the system. Those orders stayed at 99 until modified to 19-10 status by the dealer after verifying their build. 2022 builds are different as they don't go through the reservation system anymore. Just contact the dealer and order your vehicle. Where some confusion lies is since the commodity constraints, chips shortages, hard tops, tow packages have popped up, priority codes are out the window. What gets built first is what the manufacturer has on hand. It's not just Bronco and it didn't just start. This has been happening for the past 5+ years, it's just been exacerbated by COVID, lack of transportation, commodity plant issues and on and on.

Some background on priority codes. Stock orders default to an 80 priority status when entered into the order bank. The order priorities were implemented so a dealer could order multiple vehicles on the same line (F150 as an example) and stagger them to be produced/be delivered to the dealer over a monthly build period. Each dealer gets an allocation of vehicles every month. Then that dealer has to input what they want built. If the dealer wants 4 F150's built with all the same equipment on them but let's say, different colors, they can put the first one they want to come in at priority 20 (highest stock priority) the next one at 21, the next at 22 on so on. The 20 priority should be built first week of that production series, the 21 built the second week of production and so on. That way all of your like trucks don't hit the ground at the same time and you can mix up your inventory.

The only priority code that means anything different with the Bronco is a 99. Which means do not build.

10-19 do mean priority on other models, FMC dropped it on the Bronco. This has been discussed in numerous threads here dating back to 2020

As a contrary example, I would suggest you DO change your order as often as needed to get exactly what YOU want. I had to change salesmen at the dealer, because after the 22 reorder, my order was wrong and the salesmen continued to say ‘sorry, can’t change it now’.

Not until I put 2+2 together with a Bronco (the customer didn’t want) right next to his desk, uploaded with all kind of pricey dealer adds and 10k ADM did I come to understand he most likely wanted me to give up my Bronco for his gain.
