No 2.7 for 2dr Badlands 2025...but why?

Why is the 2.7 not available in the 2dr Badlands 2025. Lots of posts stated 2.7 is not available but not one explanation as to why.
I have a buddy with a 2023 2dr Badlands, 4.7 rear, who loves the vehicle's quickness and power.

Why would it make people Happy? Those that want the four door get the four door.... The only thing I see is the people who want the two door would be unhappy.... Granted more people choose the four door because it fits their lifestyle. Their are still a large number of us that would NEVER buy a four door because of other options fitting those needs better in my opinion.... I purchased a very nice trail rig that has a 17 inch shorter wheel base. that was important to me. I prefer the IFS over a solid axle because it rides and steers dramatically better than a solid axle. I can keep up with the solid axles over the rocks all day long because with locking front and rear differentials I can three wheel just fine.... without the dual lockers you better keep all four tires on the ground.

There are a large number of people here and at the dealer that think the 2 door is costing the four door buyers money.
I don't think ford should have built a four door, so we're even.
for many a 4 door is a waste of metal. The dealer said to me, buy a 4 door so you can bring your grand kids with you. Told the idiot never had kids, would you buy a 4 bedroom house if you don't need 4 bedrooms?
Although 4 bedrooms would work, one for my motorcycles, one for the pool table, one for my guns...but 4 doors is a waste.
try to buy a pick up with 2 doors,

Yep but just remember that there’s folks out there that would buy a 4dr C8 if available…

Hmmm, Ford must have been listening to you. In 2026, the Stroppe is only offered in a 4 door. 😁
Was just reading the same thing… I think the Stroppe with four doors might be a mistake… will make 25’s valuable

I can understand that line of thinking but I believe it is incorrect. A lot of people buy the 4 door because they need the 4 doors (or so they tell themselves) but would prefer the 2 door (if my life circumstances were different).... It is the 2 door desire that actually makes the 4 door more desirable than it would be if only a 4 door were offered. Most people buy these because of the optics.... LOTS of nice 4 doors out there available but most do not have the "desire" that the Bronco ellicits. I believe that a lot of that is driven by the 2 door.... It is kind of like the C8 (as mentioned above).... The fact that it exists and you can buy it actually gets people buying other chevys... Not logical but true.....

There are plenty of examples that fly in the face of my logic but I truly believe this does have a considerable influence on many of the buyers.

That's a terrible idea, when do we start?

I think you're on to something there! Look at the Stroppe edition as a great example. In order to be true to the original, they built it as a 2-door. But I suspect that they found it had a very limited market. A lot of folks weren't willing to pay that much for a 2-door Bronco. So they corrected that in 2026 and made it a 4-door, hoping to build on the buzz they created with the 2-door. 😀

The Black Diamond at launch was the perfect Bronco in my view. Sitting on Steelies, an Industrial interior, standard with the manual in a 2-door configuration, heavy duty metal front bumper, and available with the advanced transfercase for just $750 extra. For well under $40K. Best met the OG Bronco ethos.

I've never understood all the luxury items to uplevel the comfort factor for a truck that has removable doors and a removable top. If you want that much comfort and 4-door convenience, just get one of the 50 or so really good fixed-metal-roof-SUVs on the market that come standard with an automatic transmission.

Easy.
A vehicle is a costume or a toy for people rather necessary transportation. 99.9% of the folks with Broncos don’t NEED them, they wanted them.

Yeah after I made the post I realized Caddy made one. But I was thinking mid engine. 4 door. But I do really like the Caddy wagon.

First it’s not a Corvette, and secondly nobody wanted one… To my point
Over its four years of production, the CTS-V wagon only saw 1,767 units roll off the line, with just 514 of them equipped with the manual transmission

Unfortunately, the market is not geared towards enthusiast cars, sadly. Hence why Broncos are tarted up with such things as the "Lux package" and Cadillac V8-manual transmission wagons did not sell well. BMW never brought over its legacy M5 Touring (wagon) in either manual or automatic to the USA market until this year, which is an automatic-only hybrid.

Well, not to state the obvious but, how does one make a mid-engined wagon? Just sayin' 😉

Thats odd because many people view vehicles as an appliance.

I went with the Wildtrak because in 2023 it was the only way to get the HOSS 3.0. I use mine off road and wanted that extra sense of security that the stronger steering components give. It came with the 2.7. That's fine too.

I would argue that the power is NOT too much for the 2 door's wheelbase.
I am not the leader. I just like to go first.

Exactly — and Ford (like any automaker) knows that.

To maximize sales, they have to appeal to as many buyers as possible. When they brought the Bronco back, they created a huge buzz around the first-gen heritage — and they nailed the styling to capture that classic Gen 1 look.

But Ford also understands today’s buyers. They know people want modern tech, a more comfortable ride, and enough room to haul more people and gear than the original Bronco ever could. They weren’t trying to build a rig purely for Bronco enthusiasts like us — they were going for mass appeal. And to do that, they came up with the Gen 6 Bronco.

I remember back in ’21–’22, Ford was a bit surprised at how many people were buying the higher-trim models. They expected more buyers to start with lower trims and modify them for more capability. It’s kind of funny when you think about it — given all the research and outreach they did, the data still caught them off guard.

Personally, I think all the input from the Bronco enthusiast community was a double-edged sword. It absolutely helped Ford design a better Bronco. In the end, they built both:

  • a Bronco that enthusiasts could buy and modify (hence the “Lift Me” stamp on the inner fender), and
  • a Bronco that’s already very capable but comfortable enough to be a daily driver with all the tech people expect today.

In other words, they let you choose which one you want.

But like any compromise, someone’s always going to be disappointed they didn’t get everything they wanted. Nope, it doesn’t have a solid front axle for the hardcore rock crawlers. Yup, it’s got IFS for the desert-racing crowd and daily drivers. Nope, there’s no V8 for the “I just love a V8” crowd — but yes, they gave us a twin-turbo V6 that performs well and is still more efficient for everyday use.
