Taking my 17 year old son (Jeep guy) for the ride-along. I'm as excited as I've been about anything in a very long time.

which day are you going?
The off-roadeo site is a bit of a trek from Austin so if you are staying in Austin know this... there is traffic when there is traffic, it can be very random times.
If you have time the off-rodeo site is about 20-30 minutes away from Hidden Falls, after you get your learning done you can head over there and test your skills.

I want to go to the Texas Off-Rodeo but don't know when we'll be able to make the trip. Anyone know how long after Bronco purchase you have to use the voucher from Ford?

I took my son to the TX Off Roadeo. I let him do all the driving. I just sat back and watched him grin from ear to ear. It was a real memory maker. We stayed in nearby Marble Falls (5 minutes from the Off Roadeo). Also, if possible eat at the Blue Bonnet Cafe. It is right there in Marble Falls. It has great meals and is known for its pies.

Yes, Saturday. Staying at Marble Falls. Wish we had time to go to Hidden Falls. Have to get back to Houston tomorrow night. We'll be back though.

BB Cafe is legit! When we go for the BN off roadeo next month we are staying for 4 days so we should get a few meals/pies there.

Here’s a couple of indoor pics in the Blue Bonnet Cafe. They serve breakfast all day and the pancakes are huge and delicious!

The TX OR is a great time with fantastic instructors & trails. Tell your son to make peace with his Jeep days because he will come back a changed man with a big TX Bronco grin on his face. Enjoy your day!

Its a fun time, and all along your way you will learn a lot about the Bronco and offroading!!! Plus you get to mingle with other like minded people.

How much did it cost for you and your son? Trying to decide if I should take my wife as a passenger or second driver? Or just leave her run lose in Marble Falls for the day.

If you are going to bring the wife to OR you need to decide soon because the price for passengers will go way up. I think i signed my wife up as a second driver and it was $400-ish but I think you get a goodie bag or something, if you stay in Marble Falls less expensive hotel, and both go to the off-roadeo it is less expansive than the 2 nights you have to stay at horseshoe bay resort. It is super nice there but I am used to spending $30-80 a night at a camp site for the RV so we are staying nearby in the RV $40 a night.

How much did they charge for your son?

Just got back - it was one of the most amazing things I've ever done and I'm soo glad I had him with me. It was something between $300-400 but it's about to go up. He couldn't drive because he isn't 18 yet (bummer) but it was worth it. Some had spouses - I highly encourage that - whether they drive or just watch or take photos/videos. It will give them a better sense of what it's like and thought scary at times will give them confidence in you (if that's an issue).

I will have more to say later but wanted to report back. If you're on the fence, just do it. We stayed at La Quinta and it was a very nice one with a Starbucks really close. Good breakfast.
