High expectations, surpassed!

Today was a beautiful day.
Naturally I did my research here before attending the Nevada Off-Rodeo so thank you to everyone who has already shared their experience and photos! And today was my day!

It was an easy drive from the Las Vegas strip to the site, about 35 minutes. Another thread has the GPS coordinates in it. The weather was comfortable in long pants and I drove the entire day with windows down and AC on 4 (out of 7....). I parked at the gate early and waited in eager anticipation!

I had arrived with high expectations and left utterly amazed with the Navada crew and the Bronco! As a novice, meaning no trail experience, I left feeling confident in the vehicle and in my ability to take on challenges I would have otherwise never considered. We had a small group of 5 drivers in 4 Broncos. Everyone came with different levels of experience and contributed to the group (and my personal enjoyment and growth during the day). Our trail guide Todd was patient and clearly communicated each step. I was surprised he trusted me on some of the obstacles, although I think he had more faith in the Bronco than me at times! I probably should have sprung for the extra $75 coverage, although thankfully didn't need it!

As others have mentioned, the food was fantastic. Water breaks were plenty. And the views were outstanding! Even the bathrooms were clean which honestly was a surprise. Obviously the meat of going to this event was to drive. However this was generally slow paced (3-8mph) and I valued the time set aside for basic recovery and safety. Much of the time was spent in M1. Trail assist turns were fun and can see the utility. Forget GOAT modes or cameras, this focused on understanding what was going on with the vehicle, trusting the spotter and getting a feel of things behind the wheel. And as someone else had mentioned, there was no negative talk of competitors which kept it classy. And while the mercantile shop was open the whole time, there was no pressure.

I left knowing the Bronco is much more capable than I had previously understood and now I can actually intelligently use the technology built within.

Now I only need to take delivery and find some trails!

Just went today! It was awesome. Totally refilled my Broncometer. My spouse went too and had a great time. Well worth the time to go, especially if you had been feeling crappy about delays and everything. The Bronco is real, and it is amazing on a trail.

Got a little more time here- Couple of further observations.

First- I went trying to decide if I really needed the Sta-bar disconnect or not. My wife and I drove a Wildtrak and had zero problems with any of the trails. For the kind of things I want to do, I dont think I will need it.

Second- The Bronco we drove had a mid-package and it was fine. The screen was legible and the Radio was not terrible (for a ford). but....

Third- I would have really liked to have the cameras. I had a difficult time judging the size of this beast and would have appreciated the look around. That would get better with familiarity, but it would have been nice to have more visibility.

Fourth- I really did not like the tach. Just give me an analog dial thanks.

Fifth- We didn't use the Goat modes. We were mainly working in M1/M2 and D. Worked great. I put it in Baja mode one time (on the "fast" section of the trail) and it was super fun, but I'm not sure how much I would use the others.

Sixth- I drove an automatic, and it was so easy to use off-road. Back in the day, my CJ-8 was a granny-low four speed and that was my frame of reference, but damn was this better.

Seventh- I spent a ton of cash on my CJ back in the day and it was pretty tough on the trail. The Bronco would run rings around it, do it with style, and with heated seats. The CJ isn't in the same ballpark. It may not even be playing the same sport.

Eighth- We drove an Anti-matter blue Wildtrak. I really liked the Gloss black grill, and there wasn't enough contrast with the body color. It looked murdered out. I think it would look better with a higher contrast color.

Ninth- The black "beadlock" trim rings are terrible. They get all scarred up. Need to swap them out for a silver set.

Tenth- Area 51 looks awesome in person. I didn't like this color before, but it looks great on the Bronco. But then again, so does Cactus Grey

Eleventh- My Wife loved the Bronco. I was hoping for just not hating it (She hated the Jeep). Totally onboard now (and in fact has tried to snake the Bronco out from under me).

So here is where we are at- Totally reenergized. Reconfirmed the model I want (Wildtrak). Wife is onboard. All that is left to do is renegotiate the color- (I spec'd out Silver, but she didn't like it) and get that order in when the books open in a couple weeks.

Does anyone know if they will have dates in 2022? My wife and I want to go but really can't work out the calendar until after the new year...
I emailed them directly and asked that same question. They responded saying "There will be 2022 dates, they are finalizing the calendar and will email the dates when final"

Nice writeup! I like the consistent branding throughout the locations and those views
Is there any talk of someone who (for example) attended the Las Vegas but can then sign up for Moab?

On Wednesday Oct 20th I attended Bronco Off Roadeo Nevada and YES you need to GO. My main interest was to see the technology and it’s unbelievably amazing!! But the most amazing part of this experience is that it made me so confident in my driving skills. A little background I didn’t know that each Bronco Off Roadeo site has its own unique terrain. Nevada has canyons, washes with rocks and boulders so rock crawling is what you do! YOU ROCK CRAWL something I would never do so I thought! NOW bring it on with all the technology that the Bronco has and what I leaned from Bronco Off Roadeo especially from Ben one of the trail guides.

I was so lucky because I was by myself I had the opportunity to ride with Ben in the last Bronco by doing this I received some very valuable one on one instruction.

If you are on the fence, think your above going or just don’t want to JUST GO you will not regret it and you will be amazed by what you learn about the technology and your ability.
