I don't have outer banks tips specifically but I can say this. You will be fine in reasonable situations with mud/ruts setting. In regard to the sway bar (stay bar whatever), it is only needed for those that extreme rock crawl frequently. We had the Wildtrak for our Moab experience (and we own one) and it crushed the obstacles with no issue. We went the hard route every time and asked Mandy (our awesome guide) to get us stuck on purpose. A quick front or rear locker got us thru every issue. One of our crew even had a non-squatch and they killed it with 32s. All I know about water crossings is you need to make sure you have a clear path (no hidden impalements) and be mindful of speed. Slower is often better up to the top of the tires.
