We thought about that 10 years ago. But the little hospital is not well equipped to handle old persons' serious illnesses. But we are just 3 hours away & visit often.

Just move to Moab. That's what I'm going to do.
I lived in Northern California for 17 years and loved the access to trails throughout the Sierra Nevadas...no such access here in Florida.

Very interested in this one. Escalator looks like a fun challenge too.
Beware the Escalator, I have seen a lot of people damage their rigs on that one. Hells gate is much easier even though it looks worse.

I'll update this list with any other trails that I see in this thread, so post them up. Also let me know if you think any of these difficulty ratings or trail lengths should be adjusted. If you do a write-up in Trails & Trips I'll link to it from this table.

I have finally started to insert links into this table of Moab area trails. If you know of other trip reports or trail write-ups already posted in the forums, let me know so I can add them.

These lists are great. I have been there 3 times and conquered most of the second page of this list. Kane creek is a great time especially with a couple pops along the way. Watch for roaming cattle. BEBB832C-EC77-40DA-B981-44EAE0203F52.jpeg8BE21377-F442-472C-9E5F-8661CBDC6851.jpeg

Fins and things

Fins and things is a great trail to learn on. Moderately difficult and will make you uncomfortable in areas but a blast. I will be taking my family when the wildtrak shows up. My son and wife will be driving it. We (friends and I) start every Moab trip with fins.

My top three trails are Poison Spider, Hell's Revenge and 7 mile rim. There is another 4wd trail in Arches which goes out of the end of the Delicate Arch parking lot. It actually leaves the park and goes on BLM land. You can go quite a way and then you come to a pretty gnarly hill. If you can climb it you end up on Dry Mesa. On the BLM map there are 4 overlooks. One of them has the best view of Castle Valley looking down on the Bronco Rodeo headquarters. Another cool trail is Where Eagles Dare.

My favorite trails for the RZR are B&T and fins and things.

Anyone taken a stock Bronco Sport Badlands on the Elephant Trail? I"ve seen videos of the Sport Badlands on other "higher" ranked trails, but nothing for Elephant Hill, and videos of older, less capable vehicles going through.

I'm looking into a lift (probably a 1.5" from HRG) and better tires if I need it, but if I can get by on stock, I'd like to keep my gas mileage where it is for the road trip to get there :)

I've never been to Moab. When I started planning a trip around going to Bronco Off Roadeo, I quickly realized that I don't even want to go until I have my rig. There are just too many cool things to check out that I have no desire to do in a rented Jeep. So I can't really speak to specific trails in Moab. But here are some things in the area that I'm looking forward to checking out.

Goblin Valley - Little Wild Horse Canyon - Wild Horse Road (BLM 1013) from Little Wild Horse Canyon to Swing Arm City - Cathedral Valley - Burr Trail Road from the Burr Trail Switchbacks to Boulder, UT - US 12 Scenic Byway from the Hogback (near Boulder) to Escalante - https://youtu.be/a9e6P2CSuDc

Those are all great things to do! I've been to Moab many times over the last decade or so, and with my new baby Bronco, thought it would be awesome to be able to hike in the Needles area especially and not have to worry about carrying a ton of water in my pack for staying overnight. Last time I was there at the end of September, it was 100 degrees in the parking lot. I only hiked about 6 miles, but I drank the entire gallon of water, and the additional 1 QT Gaterade I was carrying and still felt a bit wiped at the end. Super excited about my new Bronco hopefully being able to get a bit further into the area and being able to set up a nice little base camp to adventure from.

Be sure to check out the fins in Arches as well. The trail is Devil's Garden Primitive Loop- a bit of a longer hike but if you get up early the trail is yours! (first pic) Some amazing views! If you want to get away from the crowd, the Tower Arch trail is really nice (second pic). My Thunderbird made it to the trailhead no problem when it was dry (I've heard the road gets pretty crazy when it's wet though). If you're okay with some rock scrambling, I also HIGHLY recommend getting a ticket for the Fiery Furnace guided tour with the rangers, that was very memorable.

I would never tell somebody that you can't do that trail, only you know your vehicle and your ability. But Elephant hill is a pretty tough trail. Going up the hill is the easy part, going down the other side there are some big ledges. I just did it about 1 month ago in my Jeep on 39" tires and it is a fun and beautiful trail. Several people on lessor vehicles turned around when they saw the other side of the hill. I would not take my F150 Raptor on 35" tires there, but it probably could do it. At the least go with someone else, because if you break down, it is a long and very expensive tow back to Moab.

Well, may as well pile on the old thread. I did in fact take my sport onto Elephant Hill Trail, and had an absolute blast with it! The backside of the hill was indeed the toughest part of the trail, but other than some love marks on my skid plates had no issues!

I definitely had to be strategic and slow, and did let a couple Jeep parties pass with their much bigger tires/more purpose built rigs. But I was there to camp and hike in backcountry that's tough to get to without carrying 20 pounds of extra water on my back, and got to have a great time doing it. Can't wait to get back out there!
