I have a manual Badlands, and I would like to drive something similar at the Off-Rodeo. I don’t need to learn about all the neat features that the auto has (trail turn assist, one-pedal driving, etc.). Is is possible to request a manual Bronco?

If I remember correctly they only have automatics. Unless something has changed. Send a PM to TorgSurv he will know for sure

They only had auto's when I was there, but it's been a while. also I didn't know that trail turn assist isn't available in the manual. That seems strange since I don't think that it has anything to do with the transmission.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, they don't let you reserve your Bronco for Off-rodeo. It's a mad scramble for your bronco when you're there. ?

All of the Broncos at the Moab Off-Roadeo were automatics. Some were Sasquatch-equipped and some were not. Mine wasn't, but it was still every bit the mountain goat. Just be sure your tires are aired down when you get to the trail head. My tires were all aired up because the vehicle had just been in for maintenance and no one had dropped the pressures to "fun mode" yet. Oh, and you'll have a BLAST! Trust me.

Yeah, and as I recall, they only air them down to 25 or something since there's a highway section and no way to air back up before you hit it. Again, at least that was the case when I was there 1 year ago.

I think all of the Off-Roadeos have all automatics. When I went in Vegas, it was 85% Badlands, 10% Wildtraks, and 5% outer banks.
I will definitely say that the techniques they teach are really applicable to either transmission. They did a demonstration of trail turn assist, but we didn't use it on the trail. It actually tears up the the ground pretty badly which is why they didn't do it on the trails.
I watched a great video on YouTube that details some special features of the manual. I've linked to it below. Between being able to start with no gas and just slowly let the clutch, 3-second hold without a break on a hill, hill descent, and crawler gear +4-low that doesn't stall at 1 mph, the MT really doesn't make it any harder to off road in my limited experience.
They did have a handful of manual Broncos very early on, but due to reliability they now run entirely automatics. Off-roading a manual is hard on the clutch, particularly if the people driving it are relatively new to off-roading (or just don’t know how to drive a manual to begin with).
Correct, no manual transmissions. There were a couple in Texas during the first few weeks of operation because we were using pre-production vehicles at the time before our regular fleet was delivered. In Moab 50% are Badlands (half of them with Sasquatch), and the other 50% are a mix of all the other models from Base to WildTrak (all with Sasquatch). Regardless of what you end up in, you'll have a great time and learn valuable skills and techniques (not just vehicle specific features) that you can put into use on your own Bronco when you get home, no matter what kind it is.
Even these kind!
