Who's going ?

The wife has been in the hospital for the last half of March but she seems to be doing much better and is determined to carry through with this trip. We will be leaving on the 11th to make it happen . I'd appreciate suggestions on what items I need to bring and since I have no idea of the weather this time of year in Moab, what clothing items would be advisable ? I have read the thread of best eating establishments to take in near there and have taken notes. Suggestions for tired old people things to do would probably be of help also . We won't be heading back until late Monday afternoon.

Thanks and hope to meet a few of you there.

I’ll be there then. Doing the Rodeo on Sunday but we’ll be hanging out in Moab a few days before and after the Rodeo. I’ll keep an eye out for your rig. I’m in a HPR 2 door WT.

Oh we will be flying in on Thursday evening. I wish I could drive the Bronco but Moab is just a tiny little way from Bama, lol.

Well you got the eating post read, so you're doing good.
Dress in layers. The off-rodeo site has good information on what to wear.
If you're going to try for a couple of the national parks there, you will need the pass and for arches a timed entry. You should look up the park before you go so you know what you will need to get in.

Bring clothing for all weather. Light pull over to full jacket. Thermals. A small ice chest or soft bag for water and some trail snacks

Layers and sturdy footwear for sure. I was good two weeks ago with a hoodie in the vehicle and jacket when you're out standing in a group (light down with windbreaker properties are great options --- the wind is what gets ya). I hope you two have a fantastic time!

The Moab Off-Roadeo was great. We had Tyler as our guide for the day and I don't think anyone can beat that dude for his level of expertise, knowledge of the Bronco ,history of the area and level of professionalism. My wife was still weak from just getting out of the hospital several days before we flew out, so she only got out of the Bronco a couple of times, but Tyler was great checking on her. The guide from the other group even checked on her when they caught up to us once. She felt much better the next day and we went sight seeing for most of Sunday. I'll throw in a few pics although I don't have any of myself driving the course. I was tailgunner of the group so it made it easier watching everyone else go first, lol.

We stayed just a few miles down the road at the Castle Valley bread & breakfast. I highly recommend as it was beautiful ,quite and the owners are very nice. The breakfast burritos the fixed one morning were super good. We stayed in the cabin off to itself and it had everything you needed including a propane grill on the back porch.

There was little doubts that you would have a great time. Glad you're wife did well.
We did it a couple days after you. It's an awesome experience to be sure.
So are you new to the bronco?
Four wheeling?
After the rodeo what's your first adventure in yours?

Glad you enjoyed the day and the trip. Moab is one of those magical places on Earth, and a tremendous place to hone your off-wheeling skills. The staff are amazing and the landscape is truly unmatched.

I am certainly new to this type of wheeling. I had a CJ back in '82 but the South Ga roads were mud, ruts and sandy roads. I've crawled over some downed trees and through some creek beds but nothing like the rocky terrain of Utah. I did have a '92 OJ white Bronco but like OJ , the only thing I did with it was go to the beach and get pulled over by the law :)
One of my Jeep friends wants to go trail riding on some forest roads tomorrow so we'll see if we do that. I did take the top and doors off for the first time yesterday .

You're Bronco looks great and set up for fun.
It will be interesting to hear how you take the stuff you learned at off rodeo and apply it to your neck of the woods.

Nice hood!

Thanks . I looked at the ADV when it first came out but I sold Cervini's hoods for quite a few years when I had my accessory business and always liked their quality and fit. I liked the higher rise this one has over the ADV also.

Does your front camera clear your winch mount?

It doesn't bother me enough to buy a relocation kit :)

Have you added any skids yet? Adding them sooner than later will make it much easier to put them on.

I just have the ones that the Badlands come with. I think they will do fine for the type wheeling I am going to do.
