How to Remove the Doors on Your 2021 Ford Bronco

The time has come. Tonight at 7PM, the doors come off. Grab your 13mm hex socket and make sure you lift with your legs, not with your back. Oh, a flannel shirt will help too, we don't really have all the "science" worked out on it but Jon swears flannel makes it easier. ;)

Well then. The more you know.

This will be my first American vehicle. I've only owned Japanese and German before. At least I won't have to buy all new sockets and wrenches.

I've got questions about the bag itself. Are they washable? Putting the bags over a dirty door is not going to be a good thing if you never clean the inside if the bag. I can see the dirt getting ground into the paint.
That's a good question. We didn't see a care tag but that doesn't mean that one doesn't exist. Ford does recommend that the doors be put into the bag as clean as possible, for the very reason you're bringing up.

Is there a place in the Bronco to store the bolts? Or do you thread the bottom bolt back into the hinge and the top bolt back into the door?

There isn’t a dedicated compartment for them. There are places you could store them but you’d probably want a bag to prevent the noise from having them roll around freely. The four door has compartments on either side of the cargo area that could do nicely.

Might be a good use for the Bronco Nation member bag that comes in the welcome kit.

I suppose you could rethread the bottom bolts but it isn’t recommended.

I might have to sew a pocket onto the door bags to store the bolts in, I don’t know if I like the idea of them just rolling around. I have other plans for the member bag.

Yeah, I hate that sound. I had a screw that got loose in the spare tire well on my daily driver and I had to stop and dig it out after a couple miles.

Nice video. I was curious about this process. Not as easy as my old CJ, but not a big deal either.

The doors in the bags are a lot of volume though to be carting around. I am sticking with my seasonal plan- Doors come off Memorial Day, go back on Labor Day and spend the summer season in the garage. I like the eyebolts in the roll bar too. Those are probably going to stay on the roll bar full time.

David,

They should have made the storage order both front doors and then the rear doors. A driver might want to remove only the front doors, but not likely just the rear doors leaving front doors on.
I am guessing you can just store the fronts. There was a video asking about storing front roof panels with the doors and it was indicated that the panels can stored but only with the 2 front doors. It did not indicate what order though.

Thanks, I would love to see a video/photos that lets us really compare this setup with a Sasquatch and outlines the pros and cons.

Great video. Thank you, was just thinking about this topic last night. Are these door bags and harness the options we could choose during ordering? I’ll have to get some for sure.

You need to order the onboard storage bags with your vehicle order. I could not find them elsewhere.

Thank you. I just emailed my salesman asking his advice. We touched on it during my build, but we hovered around the “avoid accessories for now” mentality.

Dealership says no big deal if you don’t order. There are plenty of bags in-store. Hope this helps

Where can I coins those door bags and harness? I have looked everywhere, the only door bags ford sells are clearly labeled “not compatible with on board storage” and there is no harness for sale anywhere.
