One thing I noticed in the first day of ownership is if I had the window down around 4" it would get a nasty rattle when hitting any bumps. I chalked it up to the frameless window and figured I would live with it. Well I came across a thread over on B6G stating there was a service bulletin out for the window rattle. Several people took their Bronco to their dealers and either the problem was not fixed or it got worse. Well I came across a fix that you can do on your own in just a few minutes. I actually added my own steps that made it even easier.
What you need:
-Nut driver
-Long 10mm socket
-Long screwdriver
-A few minutes of your time
-First you want to roll the window all the way down on whichever window is rattling. Might be one. Might be all. For me it was just the drivers side front.
-Open the door and crawl under so you can see the bottom of the door. You will see two rubber plugs.
-Pull one plug off. You will see an adjustment screw.
-Use your 10mm socket to loosen the nut. Don't take it all the way off.
Insert the screwdriver into the area next to the metal clip. It will be on the inside side of the door.
-Apply a little pressure outwards (towards the outside of the door) until the screw is all the way to the outside.
-Hold that position and tighten the nut.
-Reinstall the rubber plug.
-Repeat for the other one.
-Take it out for a test drive and see if your rattle is gone.
-Pat yourself on the back for not having to waste half a day at the dealer with the potential of no fix.
I did this and it worked. Not only did it get rid of the rattle. It also got rid of the high pitch whistling when the window was cracked about an inch.
You're welcome.
