can the subwoofer in the Lux (B&O) be upgraded?

You can swap out the subwoofer/speakers no issue. The built-in amp is 660 watts for the system. Adding an amp for an upstaged sub would work well. I believe it is an 8" stock sub. If you're looking to scale up in size you'll just need to swap out the enclosure as well.

What would be cool is a floor enclosure that covers the rear cargo area where the height of the enclosure meets the back of the folded down rear seats. Essentially, a dual subwoofer enclosure that eliminates the "rear hump" when the seats are folded down.

I am curios? I have a 22 OB LUX With the B&O and it is a pretty damn good sounding factory system and gets louder than hell with little to no distortion. What the hell did everyone buy? A 50k BRONCO with a nice sound system or a 50k stereo with a BRONCO attached to it? I get that some folks want more from the sound system but stop calling this system crap! Name a off road vehicle in this price range that comes with a better system! Mine has no issues and works as advertised.

Easy there...wanting to improve a vehicle's sound system is common upgrade people make to vehicles. It's not meant as an insult to the vehicle. From Ford's perspective, why make the BOM investment of a truly elite sound system for all customers when the people that care about that kind of thing have so many aftermarket options that are basically plug and play?

If you read all of my post it clearly states that I understand folks want to upgrade their stereo. And in no way was I trying to be disrespectful to the OP. I was only pointing out that I see a lot of post trashing the B&O system. I bought my BRONCO with the LUX package that happens to come with the system, It's pretty damn good for the money in comparison to other off road vehicles at this price point. I think FORD has done a good job considering the rash of crap this country has been through in the last 24mts could they have done better, probably. No offense meant to anyone just pointing out the things I read on the site, such as the guy who bitches because the window switches are in a different location than his F-150. Things that make you go WTF!

Thanks for derailing the discussion lol. I never said it was trash or anything like that. I simply asked if anyone had upgraded the stock woofer to a better one for a bit more punch in the bass. It’s a decent system in stock form. I’ve definitely had better, in far less expensive vehicles. For a $60k vehicle, yeah, I’d expect better.

WOW comprehension really does elude you! Sorry for busting in I thought this post was about the the BRONCO sound system. As I said in my first 2 post nothing was pointed at you, but as you find reading a challenge you just inadvertently chose all out war on someones observations of the BRONCO stereo system. No doubt to me that you have been living life with your nuts in a wad for many years. And to that I say GOOD DAY!

2023 Base get 7 sup woofer speaker. B&O? Ford accessories has only 2022 Catalog so here is my questions:

Q1. If retrofit on base with say 8" sub woofer and amp say 660 watts( 55 amps must run say 8 AWG directly to battery terminal, right but it was reported use relay wired in auxiliary switches, say 15 amp?

Q2 Is it the B&O unit parts dropped down to base or different unit?

Q3. It is reported that the two (l&r) dash board speakers dont have base filters like kick plate. Any help?

Q4 The power modular will have to be updated codes to get to sub woofer amp, will a dealer do, if he does not due wiring and installation , if 2023 accessories catalog allows labor on website?

Q5 With all this, will plug& play harness be need? With it work with Base harness, since looks like goes to rear roll bar pods?

Q6 Looked at passenger cargo outer panel and has some storage box built in, will the 2023 use different cargo panel to make room for amp and spearker enclosure?

Below looks like B&O sub woofer, four speaker wires and 8 gauge amp power wires, wilo have to be run from say under steering wheel( amp) to save 8 gauge run, then the four T connected speaker wire to sub woofer, may be simpler that all the way to rear cargo?

Below sub woofer is listed by Ford accessories under $300.00 but dont know if full kit or just custom sound box?
