If a backup camera is needed to keep someone from killing someone, then that person shouldn't be driving

Okay, I'll say it:I 100% agree with what you are saying about needing a camera to back up but May 1 2018 all new vehicles under 10000 lbs must be equipped with a backup camera. It's considered a safety item. To the NHTSA its as serious as a car being delivered without a seatbelt.

Okay, I'll say it:
1: the Bronco has blind spots. I paid for the SUMA expanded-convex mirrors, which do a good job of reducing those blind spots. (But ya gotta remember that "Objects Are (indeed!) Closer Than They Appear.)
2: I'm a Boomer. And there are a lot of us. I've driven for a living all my life, from city delivery to USPS trucks to semis (at 78 I still maintain my CDL-class A) to big-city law enforcement. My spatial awareness isn't what it used to be. The camera helps!
