I traded in my jeep last weekend to find out I could not drive my new bronco home, which was very disappointing. Why would a back up camera stop someone from driving home there new bronco when the fix is a software patch?

I saw that the fix is supposed to be out in the next several weeks. But dealerships will be the first to get it for stop/sale vehicles

Worth it, "if it saves one life..."

I 100% agree with what you are saying about needing a camera to back up but May 1 2018 all new vehicles under 10000 lbs must be equipped with a backup camera. It's considered a safety item. To the NHTSA its as serious as a car being delivered without a seatbelt.

Okay, I'll say it:
1: the Bronco has blind spots. I paid for the SUMA expanded-convex mirrors, which do a good job of reducing those blind spots. (But ya gotta remember that "Objects Are (indeed!) Closer Than They Appear.)
2: I'm a Boomer. And there are a lot of us. I've driven for a living all my life, from city delivery to USPS trucks to semis (at 78 I still maintain my CDL-class A) to big-city law enforcement. My spatial awareness isn't what it used to be. The camera helps!

I agree [80 years old]Still maintain my Class A-CDL.Back Up Cameras are great. Also love the front camera for parking my 2022 WT for protecting against "door dings" by centering between the lines in parking lots. Also great for my garage to give me maximum distance from other vehicles. Of course I'm the guy that used chains on brake axles of equipment trailers when hauling excavators on Mtn. Roads in the winter when working as an Electric Lineman in the winter.Got laughed at at first then explained yes it doesn't help going forward or backing up but sure makes 1 Hell of a lot better when you need to slow down or the trailer tries to slide . 2 sides on a Mountain road [Fear + Atmosphere].

I traded my jeep in as well. Ordered my bronco back in October, got delivered to dealership early March, didn't take delivery of it until March 29th due to recall. But man what a beautiful ride I have now =) worth the wait!
