With a cover, you're less inclined to check the tire pressure of the spare. If you get a flat, you run the risk of calling an under inflated tire into service.

And I love the look of my wheels, so for that reason alone I leave it bare. If I did cover it, I would want to install a custom-designed tire cover.

I say cover. If you use a soft cover I highly recommend Boomerang. They use a very heavy weight denim vinyl for their soft covers. Great quality. Had one on my Jeep for 15 years. Also you can customize them if you like. They also have the hard covers.

I went with a Boomerang cover. Great product; my Bronco is in a carport not garage,

There are so many options for covers, or just leave as is or remove the tire. It’s a personal thing.
Since I’ve had the badlands,I’ve had two covers, the first came from Etsy and that didnt last long.
My current one, I saw on ford.com for the 2025s, so went to the ford accessories site. Took a bit but found them.
They aren’t cheap but they have been great.

I personally think most rear tire covers are ugly... To each their own but not for me..

Always makes me think of these every time I see one :)

I agree that removing the cover to check and or add air is a mild pain. But a person would probably have to go a year or more before it really affects getting back to an air hose if they don’t carry a tank or compressor.

Another thing to think about-
Sun exposure significantly impacts tires, causing rubber degradation and increasing the risk of tire failure. UV rays and heat can lead to tire dry rot, cracking, and a loss of elasticity. This can lead to blowouts or tread separation, especially when tires are exposed to high temperatures.
There is good reasons to cover your spare wheel and tire, especially the fully exposed spare that most never sees the shade.

Which is why I recommend a five-wheel rotation, even if you stable your horse.
It also makes wear uniform.
I see the expense of buying five replacements as a trade-off to 20%-25% increased life span.

Yep five-wheel rotation and cover the spare to protect ALL five as they take turns on the back.

True enough, but my Bronco spends most of its time in the garage or a parking deck. Ain't no sun gonna rot my spare. 😜

Now you guys making me think of these , lol

63 years old and never covered a tire or had issues from sun damage. Hell, I never even rotate my tires and get good life from them. Just keep pressure checked and align when needed.

There's basically no functional need for a tire cover--just cosmetic. So get one if you think it looks good. I got one that I bought second-hand from someone and use it sometimes (it doesn't fit one of my tires very well because of the wheel offset, so it partially blocks the rear-view camera when that wheel is mounted).

BTW, I'm a believer in a 5-tire rotation so you get actual use out of that tire you paid for.

I have the same rims on my Bronco and I did put a tire cover on it. Looked great and worked well, except the portion that goes around the rear camera. It moves around and scrapes up the plastic.
