Time for new tires

I have 2021 Badlands non-sas with the stock tires, beadlock capable 285/70r17. I like the KO2 and want to stick with that tire but a larger size 315/70r17. My research says that I should be able to use the same rims for the larger tire, cany anyone confirm or has anyone does this? I will remove the crash bars and fix the speed-o-meter but is there anything else I need to account for when making this change?

do those wheels have the 55 offset or the 30mm offset if they are 55mm you might need to get some Good spacers, do not cheap out on these. then you should be good once you delete the crash bar. one thing to remember an Auto nosquatch badlands has different gearing than SAS so you might notice a difference. My buddy has a nosquatch badlands and he added wheels and 35's and he doesn't notice a difference in performance, other than millage.

Good question, is there an easy way for me to tell the offset? How does it come from the factory?

I did a quick search and found the offset of all the other wheels but not the Beadlock capable nosquatch wheel. maybe someone can chime in and let us know that info. I will continue to look on my end

Edit : just found that it is: The Optional Badlands wheel is a 17 x 8” wheel, with 6 x 5.5” (or 6 x 139mm) with a 55mm offset and 6.66” of backspacing. So you will most likely need spacers. BORAs would be my choice probably 1.5" .

I'll stay out of the discussion on size and wheel alterations. But I came across a couple of reviews that the KO2 isn't very good on snow and ice. 😞 Which bums me, because I have a set of 5 all bought and stored away for when my OEM Goodyears are through. I wonder what kind of winter we'll get? The last two were pretty mild. How about a roadtrip to visit @Sven?

I'm in the same boat. Love the rims, want slightly larger KO2/3s and do not want spacers. I'm a little early on wear and tear but was going to resurrect this convo with my questions if anyone had put on the sizes listed in the thread: https://thebronconation.com/general...-sasquatch-package-t.13957/page-2#post-276650

As for KO2s. I haven't had an issue in snow. Granted, it doesn't really snow in central MD anymore, but I did have them on my Xterra in central PA and MD during past blizzards and they were great. One thundersnow event dumped 10inches in 2 hours and I took back roads while everyone sat on the highways. No issues with hills, etc. even though it was so deep I was nearly plowing with the bumper.

Where I think KO2s are terrible is on barely wet roads. I've learned quickly to be very gentle on the gas and on curves.

Thanks, good to know. I think my Goodyears are fine for this winter, and maybe some spring offroading, but I'll mount the KO2s in 2025 before any serious wheeling. My hope is for a major trip West: Colorado, Utah, California (Rubicon). We'll see!

I have used the KO2 in winter in New England and they work well, which is why I want to stick with them. I have used both the 285/70r17 and the 315/70r17 and they both feel the same to me. I do have the same problem with wet roads, even more so now since my current tires are mostly bald.

@Jakob1972 Thanks for finding that info and the tip about the spacers.

Reach out to @raqball. I believe he has the non-Sasquatch wheel upgrade and runs 35’s on them

I do have a non Sas Badlands with the stock size 17x8 wheel size and I run 35x11.5R17's on them. I did have to remove the crash bars but no issues at all with them on stock sized 17x8 wheels.

These are the wheels I have:

Just did Porcupine Rim in Moab this past Sunday or Monday, lost track of time, in the snow in my Braptor with Ko2s and they worked perfect. Zero slippage and they were also great in the mud as we came down in elevation.

They look good! Just to confirm, no spacers. Correct? There is plenty of space on the inside of the tire? Do you have any pics of the inside?

I do have Bora 1.75" wheel spacers but they were originally mounted for a day w/o the spacers as I wanted to see the look / poke without the spacers on. I was not diggin' the look so I put the wheel spacers back on..

No issues in either configuration and I do not recall having any rubbing with the spacers off. You will need to remove the crash bars from the front and rear areas on the front of the Bronco..

I have zero rubbing with the spacers and I also 4 wheel the crud out of this thing every few weeks..

To be safe, you might want to have some spacers ready to order just in case you get some rubbing.. I honestly can't recall if I had any rubbing with the spacers off but I don't think I did or that would have been the reason I put them back on.

I do not have photos from the inside but can snap a few later and upload them here..

Yeah, 2 thumbs way up for KO2s in snow! Here in Colorado we get BIG snow dumps that KO2 have been great on both my pickup and son’s 4-Runner.

I got the 315/70r17 KO2 tires installed last night. Did not use spacers and they ride really well, I am very happy! Here are some pics in case anyone wants to see the space on the inside, it is tight but nothing is rubbing. Thanks to everyone who gave suggestions and helped me to make this decision.

I don’t know. Ten pounds heavier and way more expensive. Thinking the MT’s are a bargain.

Yeah, the GY Territories are light weights & cheaper too. IMO they're fine for most highway duty. but on gravel they throw way too many rocks, and rocky off-road trails really beat 'em up. These Territories have 13,800 miles including regular rock trails.

Yah it really depends what you do with the vehicle. I can destroy $400 rear tires on my Mustang in minutes. 🫤
