It is always tempting to light a business up. And people often feel wronged, even when I can tell you no business is doing this to you personally. Shit happens. I mean we end up with tons of courier damage. They all damage products, some much more than others, but I will not say who. I will say, even though they get a bad rap, USPS is far more reliable and they move exponentially more items than all other couriers combined.... I will also say UPS almost always initially denies claims, you have to file an appeal and it helps to have an account agent. We ship around 50K with UPS each year and they will still deny a $800 claim. Yes, your items were not pack in a way that would meet the industry standard for the item. The shipper may not have even shipped it insured to save a few bucks (UPS liability maxes out at $100 plus shipping fees if it isn't insured). We do our best to accommodate customers, yes if possible we will try to file a claim with the the courier, just from a procedural standpoint. We actually give people a choice when there is damage depending on the item, you can keep it and accept it and we will give you a discounted price (refund you a portion of your original purchase); file a claim (the courier will come pick it up to investigate the packaging and damage in most cases and if they accept the claim in full they will keep the item); or we will send a return label and we will replace the item if in stock or refund or credit whatever the customer wants to do. Although it can be more work or cost us more, the claim process with couriers sucks so bad that we would prefer to give the customer a discount and they keep the original item or we just get the item back and we fix it and sell it as a blemish/used item. Glad they are coming through with a new one.
