We will try to keep this as short as possible while still providing all of the info you need. If you have further or more extensive questions we would love to expand the thread as I am sure others have the same question(s).

We looked at all of the shocks/ suspension systems available for the 6th Gen Bronco to decide what we wanted to run on our Bronco. We talked to manufacturers at King Of The Hammers, through email and at other Off Road shows we have been to. We ultimately decided to run ADS on our Bronco and because we believe it is truly the best, we became and ADS dealer so we can help you get a set as well.

Many manufacturers customer service was terrible. Many have super long lead times. Most have a one size fits all that leaves you with a subpar setup if you have different configuration from what they designed and tested the system on. The reason to switch from factory suspension in the first place is typically for lift and or performance. If you add weight to your vehicle, it is now most likely sagging or riding low. It may not even be in the correct zone in your shock which can drastically change the way the vehicle handles and rides.

Let's start with the overall. Many manufacturers build their race parts in the US and get their factory bolt on kits (Bronco kits) from China (The parts come from China and they are assembled in the US for most of those companies). If you see a company that has a shorter lead time for custom or race parts and very long lead time for bolt on kits, there is a good chance this is the reason. ADS makes all of their kits in house in Tucson Arizona. They make the race kits and factory bolt on kits using the same materials and same machines. If you see Shannon Campbell bombing through King Of The Hammers this next year or any of the Ultra 4 Races, know that the ADS Racing Shocks on his machine are built from the same materials and the machines that built your Bronco Kit. PS Welcome to the team Shannon.

ADS also has different part numbers for 2 door and 4 door kits. A lot of the manufacturers have one part number for both platforms. Wouldn't rather have a kit that was designed for your vehicle??? We would. There are companies out there that sell and tune shocks. Most of those companies push two main brands and then upcharge (Tuning) for your vehicle. It makes sense from a business standpoint to push a brand that needs tuning out of the box unless your business model is like ours. If you have extra weight on your vehicle like bumpers, winch, bigger tires, roof top tent, you name it, we will consult with you and ADS and get your setup dialed before it ships.

Now let's talk about the front. The ADS kit extends travel over factory by increasing droop and compression. The travel of the front ADS kit is 6.644". The front ADS shocks have a remote reservoir with a compression adjuster so you can set it how you want it. On the road want it a little softer? Turn the compression adjuster down. Off Road want it a little more firm? Turn the compression adjuster up. There are 20 settings per corner on the compression adjusters. The fronts also have a preload collar so you can adjust preload to get your ride height where you want it.

To the rear. The rear has the same features as the front regarding external reservoir, compression adjusters and top quality materials. The rear has 10.004" of travel. This is far more than stock at 7.5" and substantially more than most on the market. The rear also has a true dual rate spring setup for an amazing ride. Most manufacturers have a progressive rate spring which is not tunable like a true dual rate. Other manufacturers have two springs but are not dual rate due to a lack of a crossover ring that limits travel of the lighter upper spring. I can really go into the weeds on this if someone would like more info on that. With a true dual rate setup (Must have two springs and a crossover ring) you can run a lighter upper spring to soak up the smaller bumps and a heavier lower spring to absorb the big bumps and big hits. This setup is much more tunable and we are happy to have springs swapped to fit your needs on these.

Currently these kits are in stock and ready to ship. I get weekly emails regarding stock so if you would like to know if they are in stock or talk about these kits please reach out.

I will leave you with this, A particular shock seller and tuner has tried to lead many people to believe their factory CVs and steering won't handle the travel. ADS tested these extensively and limited the travel short of binding and issues with factory components. This kit has been run in the NORRA 1,000 on a Bronco, and on the road and many trails across the US. We have run ours in the deserts of Arizona and will be adding Johnson Valley California, Big Bear California and many trails in Colorado to the list soon. Rest assured these were tested and limited prior to causing issues with factory parts. Let us know how we can help.

Here are some more photos of testing. We are installing our 37s next week so we wanted to check clearances and see if we needed to adjust our preload front or rear.

How is this suspension feel and perform compare to the Bilstein on the Sasquatch, and to the FOX 2.5?

It’s a night and day difference on and offroad. We have had several customers swap their hoss 3.0 Fox for our ADS kit and they have all said it was a huge difference. We swapped our Bilsteins on this Bronco for ADS and they aren’t even in the same league. The difference between these and other brands aftermarket shocks comes down to attention to detail and quality of materials. We make sure you get the correct spring rates and valving out of the box. Other brands you get a one size fits all. Customer service is second to none as well. One of our customers wanted a preload adjustment at king of the hammers. I wasn’t there so I sent him to the ADS guys that were there and they got his preload dialed where he wanted it right there on the lakebed. I can guarantee the other brands weren’t doing that unless you are a sponsored race team out there.
